My official stance on burqas

Re: My official stance on burqas

I don't think it protects women from rape either. But at least no one can say that she brought it on herself. A female that wears even a t-shirt and jeans in some of these countries will be accused of being responsible for her own rape.

Which is really pathetic. Like when I go to Pakistan, in addition to all the grabbing these street louses do, I refuse to walk around anywhere alone. There is always someone with me - and if we walk anywhere or drive anywhere, there is always an uncle or male cousin with me.

Its sad, but well, I sure don't want to get raped.

Re: My official stance on burqas

I’ve told you you look crappy in one…

Re: My official stance on burqas

I think wearing clothes is a sign of suppression. From an early age we were brainwashed into believing that clothes are good that they keep us warm during the winter season and other dumb reasons.

People, we were born free and naked, none of us came out of his/her mama’s belly dressed up. We should do away with clothes altogether.

Re: My official stance on burqas

Why don’t you put up your question in a civilized manner? Many people would be offended by your post and rightly so. If you are a Muslim than go and read Quran e pak, Parda or burqa was common in Prophet’s SAW time and dare I say your definition of manhood is rather flimsy compared to Prophet’s SAW.

Re: My official stance on burqas

^^ where in quran does it say to wear a burka? I must have missed that verse, was it next 4:34? Vaisay roman is right it is not only a sign of supression but also a sign of male insecurity(for males to be worried about thier 1 million friggin wives prescribed by Allah o talla(swt) to covered in burka vo bhi shuttle cock).

Re: My official stance on burqas

may I now take Roman's laash home?

Re: My official stance on burqas

Good to know this…

Any other stances you might have with any other cultures around the world? What about those ladies with the long, coiled-around necks…

Re: My official stance on burqas

^ it is not repression but ornamental. Under the guise of hayaa, the burkha is basically adopted to help keep muslim men from getting aroused. unfortunate effects of this practice can be seen all over peshawar.

Re: My official stance on burqas

so the saudies are louder about it, while the western nations do it more subtly. One asks to cover, the other to uncover. Next.

For those who brought up oppression , dont be fooled. For mental slavery is far worse.

Re: My official stance on burqas

western nations give women a choice. Saudis don’t. NEXT!!! :smash:

Re: My official stance on burqas

If I was president of the US (or other western country) I would write up some laws (or ask who ever comes up with them) against nudity (any form of it) . Burqas zindabad :snooty:

choice my foot. Thats a fools way of thinking. When you’ve got all the paranoid masses under your thumb, choice tends to not matter.

Re: My official stance on burqas

President doesn’t write the laws…Yup as I said..NEXT!!! :smash:

the bigger fool is someone who wears a burkha due to some illogical sense of demureness. Man made laws , made for the 7th century being applied to a modern world..go pffftt.. :frowning:

Re: My official stance on burqas

^ Shouldn’t you too be rather discussing which motel is better?

Re: My official stance on burqas

Re: My official stance on burqas

In other words you admit that you dont stand a chance to voice your opinion in an Islamic society.
