If Pathans were getting discriminated or targeted in Karachi than Pathans would not have kept coming to Karachi everyday in large number, even when opportunity in Karachi became economically worse than Lahore.
Well, it is also fact that many Pakhtoon leaders joined MQM, including Qadir Khan, senior ANP leader and right hand man of Shahi Syed, joined MQM in 2012. Many Sabzi Mandi Pakhtun leaders have also joined MQM.
It is also fact that one of the party that keeps close relation with MQM is ANP ... who only talk against MQM for political reasons, as ANP feel worried that it is losing support of Pakhtuns living in Karachi, to MQM.
But ignorance and propaganda means, some people have developed perception (or are partner to propaganda) that Karachi is not safe for Pathans.

It is waste of time to argue about subjective things like where Pashtuns feel safer in Karachi or Lahore or Kabul, or whether Urdu-speaking people feel safer in Lahore or Peshawar.
To call all MQM supporters racists for voting for MQM is a lie. There are various reasons people vote for MQM. If ethnicity was the only reason then solidly MQM voters would not have voted for PTI in big numbers in 2013 elections.
And if voting for MQM makes everyone racist then same title should be applied to Sindhi speaking people voting for PPP, Pashtuns voting for PTI, or Punjabi speaking people voting for PMLN. Why abuse all voters of MQM alone? If one does it for MQM alone then it only shows his own racism towards Urdu speaking people.
Same goes for calling all MQM voters TRAITORS, by equating treason with racism. Even if certain people vote for some party based on racism then still it does not make them traitor in any sense of the word.
To even mention this is stupidity and just shows the maturity and stupidity.
But again, even if someone does believe in this outrageous thought then this selective application of this argument on Urdu-speaking people alone shows the distorted racist mindset of certain section of our population towards Urdu-speaking people.
