I will have to disagree with that. Dr. Salaam was talented from a very early age. With that came the opportunity to study. Who funded his studies before he went abroad? The Ahmadiyya Jamaat. He had the backing of his religious community. How many times does one see that is today's Muslim communities or countries. They dont place nearly as much importance on education and furthering knowledge as they should. There are more than 1 Billion Muslims in the world, but less than 10 noble prize winners. However, the population of Jews in less than 1% in the world yet they have won 20% of the noble prizes. Obviously they are doing something right.

well the famous one I alrady know, but Coffee, Fountain Pen, and 3 meal cource starting with soup, was also muslims discoveries make me proud that from small small things to big inventions the muslims was on top.

Religions are based on "blind-followership" (that is so common in Muslims, Christians , and other religions).
Science on the other hand is based on "Questioning EVERY THING".

Do not confuse between the general concept of religion aka Islam, and the way it is practiced "Islamic Sharia".
And do not be so surprised.
Just see why the major Islamic Sharia centers aka Makka and Madina have not produced anything significant in the field of science for the last 1000s of years.
You judge the tree by the fruit.
And Islamic Sharia (the way Islam is practiced today) kills the whole concept of scientific study.
Secular Europeans were able to start the scientific path in the 13th century oxford and cambridge.
Muslim Ottoman empire rose to the prominence at the same time. However it produced not much scientifically at its zenith (16th-17th centuries) while Europeans pushed the science to the new level during the same period.
Why?
Ottomans empire was under the thumb of Sharia that forbade the innovation.
The result?
Utter lack of science and maths among ottomans. And slowly but surely the European science and literature defeated the ottoman hold.
Ottomans severely lacked scholarship in Maths and towards the end, they were hiring European scholars to come teach the turks.
It is insulting to see you guys going back to 9th, 10th century to fish out things to suit your purpose.
It may have been OK if someone was studying history. But then you all just ignore the 10000 times bigger inventions of Europeans and that's where the whole issue of Jahalat comes in.
