Muslims and alcohol

Re: Muslims and alcohol

^ did i said somewhere i wrote it ? huh..it's from my saved email .. probably a year old.

instead of usual bashing, go get the proofs and deny it.

LOL

Did you write YOU did not write it? :)

What does that mean go get the proofs and deny it??

well if you are agreeing to post, then whats the problem.

Gain knowledge and move on !

Gain knowledge from who?

Well, only if what you wrote above or copy pasted could be considered as knowledge even by a long stretch. :hehe:

Thanks for admitting YOU did not write that post. Copy pasted without giving credit.

OK.

You take islam, christianity or Judaism, none strongly preeches alcohol consumption.

You will be surprised that three different positions on this issue are present in Christianity alone.

Re: Muslims and alcohol

Allow me to write this sentence once and forever for evey stupid idea or thread.

"PEOPLE! DO WHATEVER YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR LIFE, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE YOU ARE DOING IT BEACUSE ISLAM SAYS IT."

And firenze, you should be the last person on this earth not to understand what is written in capital letters. :)

Re: Muslims and alcohol

MKD I think people refrain from eating pork because of the negativity and disgust surrounding the animal while we were growing up. Everyone considers it gross and so we grow up thinking it is. Non-Muslims arent raised with that thinking and find it delicious.

With alcohol, its forbidden but not considered disgusting...generally speaking of course. Things that are simply forbidden but dont really gross out the mind are tempting...out of curiosity people might try it out and like it. With pork, its a little different.

Ive smelled alcohol...it stinks like fungus.

depends on alcohol. grain alcohol?
beer, vodka, tequila, scotch, bourbon
wine..charodnnay, champagne burgundy, chianti..list goes on all have their own smell

this is not to promote drinking of alcoholic drinks but note that alcohol does not smell like fungus :)

Re: Muslims and alcohol

^^ you forgot to mention Gin :D

Re: Muslims and alcohol

Pork is not healthy .

Re: Muslims and alcohol

I used to know an uncle who would eat only halal/zibah gosht but with that he would drink Black Label. It had to be that or he wont even visit your place

Not that anyone would dare, after sometimes, alcohol,....... however it was consumed and whatever shape and form, the alcohol withhhdrawal may make the person jittery. Beer does have a stale fruit or sweety fungal smell.

(Those who smoke cigarrettes deny thay have ANY smell on their clothes or breath. Does not mean people cannot smell it. Specially those who are not smokers)

Re: Muslims and alcohol

The question is why does it matter? If they drink that is their business. Why should you all get involved in the matter and have a fit?

Do you see anyone getting a fit?

All it matters here is someone faslsely and deliberately trying to twist Quranic verse-s for his/her own agenda.

Re: Muslims and alcohol

And he shall be punished for it. Allah is after all, all-knowing. So let Allah play judge and jury and not you.

Also frankly you are dealing with Firenze. I am surprised he can google.

Allah commands the Messenger (saww):

"We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My Promise." (50:45)

Alcohol is prohibited in the Hadith by Anas r.a. by the Prophet Muhammad. There are ten group of Alcohol;

1 Distill
2. For whom distilled
3. Drinking
4. Transporting
5. Buying for Stocking
6. Serving
7. Selling
8. Utilizes for it
9. Buy for oneself
10.Buy for someone else

Here are some hadiths about selling alcohol:

“If Allah Taa’la makes Haraam the consumption of something; He also makes Haraam its transaction.” (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith no. 2546)

Muslims are also forbidden to sell wine, idols, and pork. Sahih Muslim vol.3 book 9 (Book of Business) ch.621-622 no.3835-3840 p.828-830.

They cannot buy, sell, or carry wine. Ibn-i-Majah vol.4 book 30 (Book of Drinks) no.3380-3381 p.493-494; vol.4 book 30 no.3382 p.494.

Selling alcohol is forbidden in Bukhari vol.1 book 8 (Book of Prayer) ch.73 no.449 p.267.

“Truly, Allah has cursed khamr (alcoholic beverages) and has cursed the one who produces it, the one for whom it is produced, the one who drinks it, the one who serves it, the one who carries it, the one for whom it is carried, the one who sells it, the one who earns from the sale of it, the one who buys it, and the one for whom it is bought.” (Reported by At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

Before anyone reads further this post. He should first ask himself if he is actually going to listen to his conscience, or try his level best to prove the following references unauthentic, not reliable....etc. Forget Haram Halal. Isn't it enough for you and me that the Prophet (Saw) disliked it and above all Allah (Swt) dislikes it. Where are our claims of loving Allah (swt) and the Prophet (saw) when we can't even consider something bad which Allah (swt) and the Prophet (saw) dislike. Instead, we try to justify our bad habits. At least we should accept our mistakes and have a bit determination to get over it. (The first step towards leaving it)
In the Quran:

"O ye who believe! Intoxicants and Gambling, (Dedication of) stones, And (divination by) arrows, Are an Abomination – Of Satan’s handiwork; Eschew such (abomination), That ye may prosper." [Al-Qur'ân 5:90]

In the Hadith:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

a. In Sunan Ibn-I-Majah Volume 3, Book of Intoxicants, Chapter 30 Hadith No. 3371.

*"Alcohol is the mother of all evils and it is the most shameful of evils." *

b. In Sunan Ibn-I-Majah Volume 3, Book of Intoxicants, Chapter 30 Hadith No. 3392

*"Anything which intoxicates in a large quantity, is prohibited even in a small quantity." *
Thus there is no excuse for a nip or a tot

And so is Alcohol. Otherwise, the Prophet (saw) would have definitely encouraged it. Why would he refrain from something so common in his time and available in abundance, and why would he also discourage others from using it.

such a childish behavior, if you can't answer back like a gentleman, then no need to talk further.

written in capital letters is apply to likes of you too, exactly :)
