I consider many lifestyles “disgusting” as well, such as of those who are heroin addicts. But that doesn’t mean I don’t see them as victims as well and a product of bad circumstances and poor decisions. Nor do I feel like they’ve no right to live. They have right to live and should be helped to rehabilitate themselves because after all they are victims first.

Depending one ones value system one can consider a heroin addicted lifestyle disgusting or unfortunate. I prefer to view the views of people who consider such lifestyles disgusting as disgusting. Because most are products of bad circumstances. On the other hand, nearly 30 countries have death penalty for heroin peddlers. In Philippines, many drug addicts are killed in police encounters every now and then. There was a time when Chinese were intentionally made drug addicts by the British empire to keep that nation from standing on it’s feet. Chinese gave the addicts two options, get rehab or get killed.

Quit this deflection strategy. Southie brought up bigoted Muslims specifically because this is a board of predominantly Pakistani people (and most Pakistanis are Muslims) alongside the fact that the comment that inspired this thread was made by a Muslim. I actually equated our Prince with right wing evangelicals from the west which is bigoted against Muslims and gays. And I equate him with the RSS, which is bigoted against Muslims and probably also against gays.

When it comes to bigots I don’t distinguish. I call them as I see them. So should you.

No, that means it is not bigotry, but a widely accepted norm across the world. Picking on only Muslims then shows bias. Condemn other cultures and demand stripping others of the same rights with the same intensity.

To answer the original question/comment.

Expression of faith should not be violated in anyway and the ability to practice a religion in a safe environment is something everyone should have the opportunity to do. As a Muslim there are certain parts of various faiths I do not agree with but that does not give me or anyone else any right to disrespect or cause harm to others with different viewpoints. That’s not what Islam nor any other religion teaches.

Condemn other cultures and demand stripping others of the same rights with the same intensity. The thing is that Muslims are denied political rights in exchange of safety and security. Finding something disgusting is a political right, associating it’s abandonment with safety and security is blackmail.
