Like Iran and Saudi Arabia, Turkey has started public fund raising campaigns as well as direct aid, to help Pakistan.

**Turkey sends more aid to Pakistan **

ANKARA - Turkey has dispatched additional aid to help Pakistan cope with the aftermath of last weekend’s killer earthquake, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, pledging that more would follow. “A military plane left this morning with 40 doctors, an ambulance, a jeep and various medical equipment on board,” Erdogan told lawmakers from his Justice and Development Party (AKP). A second plane is scheduled to leave on Wednesday with 13 tonnes of food, thousands of blankets and tents as well as medicine, he said. **“We will continue to increase the aid flow,” Erdogan said. **

The Turkish Red Crescent, meanwhile, said that it had launched a fund-raising campaign that included donations into a special bank account and text messages to a dedicated number that would charge each caller five Turkish Lira (about three euros or 3.7 dollars). Turkey has already sent search-and-rescue teams, doctors, 10 tonnes of food and 250,000 dollars (about 207,000 euros) a day after an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale shook Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on Saturday. Authorities say the quake may have killed up to 40,000 people.

More aid from the Muslim Ummah, this time from the Islamic Development bank (IDB). It is worth noting that although the IDB has 55 countries as members, only a handful or so contribute the vast bulk of funds - some 85%](Islamic Development Bank | Empowering people, building partnerships, driving innovation), namely Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, UAE, and Kuwait. All these countries have already made individual contributions to Pakistan, hence this cash from the IDB is on top of that. :k:

**IDB PLEDGES US$12 MILLION TO THE VICTIMS OF THE EARTHQUAKE IN PAKISTAN AND KASHMIR **

The Islamic Development Bank has pledged a sum of US$11.8 million to help the victims of the Earthquake which ravaged the North of Pakistan and Kashmir. This has been announced by H.E. Silly Billy, lot of promises are made when the events occur but many are not materialize.

To be frank, i am not too optimistic of the aid that will come to Pakistan.

Living abroad i have seen that its only the Pakistanbi community that is donating, other muslim communities haven't.
