I don't think all supported this illegal action of Mush back in 1999. Throwing NS's legitimate government was more severe crime than kicking two judges from services. He should have been summoned why he violeted constitution of the country and remain 9 years illegally, destroying institutions?
let me put it in another way niden, with how the NS govt was acting in 1999 many of us were fed up and welcomed the bloodless coup, however the 2nd coup wasnt that comforting. My point was, many people would forgive mush for the first one. the doctrine of necessity doesnt hold true for the 2nd one for sure.
Musharraf may not find peace in London either, here’s the latest:
Musharraf may face trial for war crimes in London
General Pinochet was of a similar caliber as General Musharraf, who after his rein sought refuge in London, was protected for a time but eventually repatriated to Chile to face charges.
Are we going to see a repeat of the same now? Have the “allies” betrayed him already? Or will they protect him better than they protected his predecessors?
The gullability of the Pakistani people and the hypocracy of PML (N) and PPP amazes me. How free was the judiciary in two terms of each of these parties?
About Musharraf being summoned: Is this not a setteling of scores? CJ wants revenge pure and simple. But let me tell you guys its not happening. The army is not going to let their ex-chief dragged into court just so some guys can please their egos. The politicians and CJ are up for chitrol and possible kick in the rear if they go ahead with this.

So that justifies an unelected dictator sacking the chief justice for no reason but his own personal gains? NO

Yes, we want to settle scores with that b****d Musharraf who did more harm to this country than we can ever think of. Call it revenge, justice, humiliation, doesnt matter. Its about time the civilians show the army what their role is, and thats to defend the country, not to rule it and show them some accountability.
kudos to lord nazir and whoevers going to pursue cases against him in england.
This was mentioned on a talk show a few days ago, and i think the possibility of this happening is very real, Musharraf may find himself in Saudi Arabia. That seems to be the only country where NS, AAZ, or for that matter most other Pakistani politicians will not touch him. He will be saved from facing any charges domestically because Saudis probably would not prosecute him.
how ironic that would be! and shameful for the nation at the same time. Yet another one of ex-officials finds a hideout in a muslim nation. this trend has just got to stop.

We have an all star cast. Billimar Niazi, the lover of military leadership, whose pulse quickens at the sight of khaki, who goes into throes of ecstasy at the sound of army boots. The adept survivor of the lynch mobs, who can recite the constitutional law backwards and interprets it in the same way.
Malik Mohammad Qayyum, the coruscating star on the firmament of Pakistani law, recorded regularly, giving sound legal advice to the luminaries of the world of wheelers and dealers, obediently accepting instructions from his paymasters, always careful to offer very reasonable rates. Dismissed in total disgrace from the bench, and nevertheless elected to the highest office of the bar.
The leery Mr Ranjha the redoubtable kisser of military behinds, the veritable incarnation of the statesman and world leader Uriah Heep. Rubbing his hands with glee at the crumbs thrown at him by the emerging Bonapartes. Jumps to defence of his employer with great loyalty if the price is right.
Uncle Pirzada The great law giver. Whose greatest asset is his honour, which he offers at to the buyers at competitive market rates. Viewing is by invitation only. You cannot buy such exclusive items on the high street. Great friend of the late Chairman Bhutto, till the time he needed him. The committee will have its work cut out for it. It will have the great record of General Tinpot which speaks for itself.
Kargil was an unqualified success. Before Kargil we could not talk about Kashmir at the UN. There was a sea change after Kargil. No no, we still can’t talk about Kashmir at the UN. We can talk about it in Egypt though. Although we have to change the name of Kashmir. No, don’t jump to conclusions. The new name is not Core Issue. That was 10 years ago. It is not called Composite Dialogue either. Now Kashmir is called ‘All Outstanding Issues’. We can talk about it every 5 years in Sharm Al Sheikh. This is the greatest gift of Kargil, for which a thousand soldiers laid down their lives. Indeed these sacrifices have not been in vain.
The economy was in ruins. The foreign exchange reserves were at their lowest ebb. It was general Tinpot who came up with the idea, that we want trade and not aid. We fought for and achieved exclusive access to the international markets of Guantanamo Bay. We could provide very high quality, value added, Al Qaida enhanced exports to consolidate our market presence.
As the result, the economy of Pakistan grew rapidly and we have run out of electricity. Our countrymen are resourceful they have found an alternative source of energy. At the moment they are burning trains and government offices across the length and breadth of the country. Pakistan is taking rapid strides. IMF is talking to us. Kerry-Luger are talking to us. Friends of Pakistan are talking to us.
Talk is cheap.
I mean, talk is easily resourced in the current investment climate.
In one talk show recently, Nazir Naji paji said no crimes of Zardari are “forgiven” under NRO, he has faced all his crimes (the ones in Pakistan)
But they did raise a valid point in the talk show that no judges who were affected by Mushy’s actions should be on the bench hearing this case as personal bias will affect the true justice.
We know you're still bitter about the humiliation Zardari got recently at the reinstatement of Iftikhar Chaudhry, BUT we all supported Musharraf back in 1999 and with the one coup per dictator rule, we can forgive him for that one, and I am sure your beloved mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was pretty happy when the coup in 1999 took place, though she had to wait 10 years for some ghaas from Mushy.
It doesnt matter if some one is happly or sad about a coup - even if all Pakistan was happy with the ouster of incpmpetent Nawaz Sharif it doesnt justify 1999 action by a general!
We have to hang a general plus asoem justices who supported him in 1999..
There is absolutely no difference in Dogar and Iftikhar - as both had their fun at their chosen moments...
Somebody questioned that charging Musharraf only with this adds insult to other injuries that pakistani nation suffered while he was in power. And i completely agree however i would dearly love to see him being answerable for some of his actions if not all of them. (Never say never firenze , you jinxed the old guy ). lets hope some good comes out of it rather than mere satisfaction of an old vandetta.

i) Dogar was a chamcha, Iftikhar is a hero. Dogar's pants also fell off on camera once.
ii) Hang Musharraf for all I care, but it should be based on the 2nd coup he imposed. Even his retarded goat Sher Afghan now admits it was a martial law.
