no one is infallible in Islam except the prophets and that's what is one of the major difference between the Sunnis and the Shia brothers who consider their imams as infallibles.

^ Hanafis pretty much put Hazrat Umar at that pedestal too. Majority of Hanafi Fiqh came out of Umar's practices during his khilafat

^ That is strange since this is why deobandis (an offshoot of wahabis in hanafi fiqh) and wahabis hate shiites for being gustakh-e-salaf / sahaba like how many shiites ridicule different sahabis for different reasons. They tried to pass a new law or expand the blasphemy law to include this new rule but failed.

Don't have knowledge of this riwaayat, but I know that once in prophet's life, some people burnt someone and prophet showed his displeasure. He said that punishment through fire is only the right of Allah. No human should do that.
Second thing is that sahaba could make mistakes too. Their act could not constitute shariah.
Not to be gustakh or anything, but we do put sahaba / salafs on a pedestal.
I think this riwayat came from a shiite source because I have heard it mentioned by a shiite forumer in the past. I was kind of iffy about it as well since Prophet Muhammad was very lenient when it came to "gustakhs".

The conflicts of 3 talaq, 20 rakat of taraveeh, mutaah are few examples where what happened in prophet's life vs what Umar ordered in his khilafhat clashes with each other, but as doppelganger mentioned, deobandis could die to show that umar was right. If that is not thinking that he was infallible then what else?
In fact the only recorded and authentic daleel that scholars give in support of killing of blasphemous being justified is when Hazrat Umar chopped the head of a Muslim who questioned the judgment of prophet in a dispute against a Jew. Umar did it out of his known uncontrollable anger, and we turned it into a shariah law

No he did not say anything which was objectionable. JI was in the back ground who lied to public and it was this party responsible for his merciless killing. Look at the janaza of this Qadri guy the killer, JI organized this drama and showed the number of people attended janaza of ST and number of people attended Qadri’s janaza, proving that Qadri would be in janat and ST in hell. The mental case b@st@4ds.

JI is arranging a million march for Namoos e Rislat and paying tribute to Mumtaz Qadri (for them Aashiq e Rasool Shaheed Mumtaz Qadri Rehmatullah Aleh). They have set a campaign office just opposite our apartments.
So for getting title of Aashiq e Rasool, now one has to kill someone without knowing why he was killing someone. I have gone through ST’s videos and it does not my boil blood to the level, so I might not be Aashiq Rasool.
Islam has really been hijacked by these Mullahs who claim their prophet to be Rehmatul lil aalameen, but to prove love for the same prophet you need to kill someone brutally.

As Illama Iqbal rightly said about Mulla that they are " Andesha-e-fitna o fasad"
And this is business for Mullas, it is their bread and butter, they sell islam and use it for their promotion as it suits them.
And it is perfectly ok, some are selling religion, some sell ethnic issues, some sell promises and some sell lollypop of change...
And it is not their fault, the short-sighted people can't see beyond their nose and this what create opportunity for these con-men to fill the space
