i like to believe that i would b ok with my husband marrying another woman .. thats what i like to believe but doing it in reality might b veryvery painful and sabr aazmaa ..it could b very hard to live like this .. if u love ur husband and sending him to anothr woman ... sari mushkilaat women k lieey kioo hain .. arey imtihaan . living in susral putting up with them .. trying to adjust .. take 1 guy and ask him to go live in a stranger family .. try to get to kno their habits and please them ans listen to all what they have to say to u and understand what they want .. just 1 guy do that for me ...

I have to say that the only guys I know of that have multiple wives have them due to their inability to "keep their zippers zipped". Not a one of them married a 2nd or 3rd for reasons of humanity. Sad.
For myself, I would not want to share my man but for humanitarian reasons I would. I'd also share him (and actually started looking into a 2nd) when I was unable to conceive. By the Grace of God, I was finally able to give him 3 boys but if it came down to it and I was completely unable to bear his children, I'd sadly share him so that he would be able to father his own offspring.
Thats what the Islaamic "rule" is all about. It ISNT about sexual gluttony.

Oh no! I am sorry if I was not clear enuf. What I am trying to say is that Muslims who happen to marry more than one wife are also normal muslims and part of our society.. Of course, most muslims spent their life up with only one wife these days cuz. For god’s sake please do not equate us, the muslims with the westerners or others. “Polygamy” is a term reserved for Christians- not for us. We are far better off than them.

You, PCG, Angel Eyes, Sahar02 et all are saying that cuz you are in the west and your minds have been polluted by the media here maybe. Being a wife in a household with multiple wives is equally enjoyable- you understand the concept of sharing, caring and mutual respect for each other and for your sister. I don't believe many of you who are so opposed to this concept are Pakistanis or muslims :(

How can you be so sure? Why do you think he wouldn't exercise the option later in his life? If you're sexually not that compatible with him later in the marriage, I guess he has rights to get another wife.. My point is if he treats you and your sisters(his other wives) equally well, then there's no reason you should feel so angry at him.. gotcha? Let me re-phrase what you posted:
"And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two, three and four, but if you fear that you may not do justice to them, then (marry) only one" (4: 3). This verse was revealed after the battle of Uhud.

most women will never get this in their head:halo:…only women who have knowlogde about islam and are good muslims will allow their husbands to have more wifes. …its their fault if they don,t like their husband having more then 1 wife …regardless of husband treat them equally or not…so its more gals problem if they feel misrable about that:)
