You are so full of it. Being a co-wife does not teach you “sisterhood.” If that was the case, God would have allowed two sisters to marry the same guy, but He explicitly forbade it because it would cause hurt feelings and bad blood. Otherwise, why shouldn’t two sisters marry the same guy? They love each other anyways…
I NEVER said polygamy is not allowed, everyone knows Muslim men can have up to four wives. I said that it’s not emotionally healthy considering how men are today.
FYI, you have to PROVIDE for the wives equally, not treat them equally. As a Muslim male, you can have a “favorite” wife, you can love one more than the other–you only have to be equal in the maintenance you provide them.
Every real Muslim scholar acknowledges the emotional price that is paid when women are in a polygamous marriage. And all the legitimate ones agree that it is within a woman’s right and nature to feel hurt and jealous if her husband is polygamous. Even the Prophet’s wives, our role models, often felt pangs of jealousy.
Why do girls get angry if polygamy is mentioned? Imagine if it was allowed for women. How would you feel if you knew your wife was intimate with another man? It’s not your day to be with her…you’re okay knowing that she’s off screwing another man? What about your mother? Assuming she’s the only wife, do you think she’ll be happy knowing your father is with another woman while she’s home alone? It’s human nature, and even these base feelings are acknowledged in our faith. For you not to acknowledge this shows what a simpleton and ignoramus you really are.
never, i don't want to hurt his feelings, if i dare questioning his love, it means i have no trust in him.
he even said he 'd to adopt in case i am barren...so i really doubt he would get another wife while i'm alive.
And everyone here has realized that you can't frame a sentence properly without making spelling errors.. it is schmuck.. get a life.. will ya? I was just tryin' to explain you wats right and wats wrong.. and if you have a your-own-modified concept of Islam, you need to go back to your high school of mentally challenged kids and play ping-pong with your sweetie
but in the case of the drinking, it didnt say u are allowed to drink, it just said u cant be drunk while praying, so it made people drink less, but with the wives, it says that we are allowed to have up to 4 wives, hope u see my pov.
in those days....the arabs used to have hundreds of wives...however Islam came and gave them a limit ...that they can only have 4 and NO MORE....therefore Islam decreased the number of wives a man can have. hence this shows....its discouraged to have many wives and the fewer you have the better.
so for these arabs who had hundreds of wives....it was a gradual step for them to have 4 maximum....after which it was revealed that they cant treat them equally....hence *only have one. *(which is the norm these days)
but didnt Muhammad PBUH have more than one wife even after this verse was revealed?
even highly known muslim scholars say that ur allowed to. r they wrong?
so basically r we allowed to or not? that is the question.
quran can't be contradicting, but these seem to be, thats y i questioned quran, ask around people r encouraged to do so so they can learn, its not that u shud think something isnt right or seems contradictory and u shud keep it bottled inside, u shud ask around and learn, and muslim scholars say we are allowed to have four wives, so either they r wrong or u r wrong.
besides i 'm a one-woman man.
Angel Eyes and Impulse- who are you two? Moulvis? You immediately blame me for throwing wrong ideas.. you sit comfortably in the west- see happy goris and think you should modify islam too? Wrong! I have met many good islamic scholars in Pakistan and they can tell you lot of things about having many wives, practice of niqaab, being faithful to husband, and sister concept I talked about.. we need atleast one official islamic scholar for gupshup.
hope no one asks questions on here to learn more about their imaan, i certainly won't ne more, cuz most on here except for a few think islam shud conform to their thinking rather than vice-versa.
so basically r we allowed to or not? that is the question.
this is what a teacher of mine told me...
imagine a paper.....divided into 3 areas....the left side is black....the middle is grey...and the right side is white.
what is haram is clear (i.e. the black part)
what is halal is clear (i.e. the white part)
in the middle is the grey area ...this is regarding issues where its not clear if its right or wrong.....WE SHOULD AVOID THIS AREA TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.
