When I speak reality, religion and things what your future husband is/can do, I am narrow-minded.. Following are my observation about you-

1) you can't handle the truth
2) You are possesive.
3) You are against Islamic principles completely.

Maybe the wife doesnt love her husband....and thats why shes happy that he goes with another woman....at least it would save her the headache. A woman who is happy with her husband taking another wife.....doesnt love him (any girl would agree with me). Im a girl so I know how it feels....and so do the other girls....a guy cant say whether a woman will be happy or not. No girl on this forum and no girl in the world who truly loves her husband will be happy with it. she will only be happy if she doesnt like her husband (in this case i feel sorry for your friend)

hold up, first Allah swt tells that u can have up to four wives if u treat them equally, prophet and his companions had multiple wives, and then Allah swt tells us that you can never treat them equally, im confused, anyone else?

Afridi: I don't quite understand either, but maybe it's a bit like how the ruling to not have something intoxicating came later, based on the fact that people were getting drunk, even during prayers. In theory this would be allowed, but human nature makes it impossible.

Being a wife in a household with multiple wives is equally enjoyable- you understand the concept of sharing, caring and mutual respect for each other and for your sister. I** don't believe many of you who are so opposed to this concept are Pakistanis or muslims** :(

Get this straight...i nvr opposed the concept of it!! I would nvr oppose ANYTHING that Allah (SWT) has made halal for us. I have respect for those women who can handle and/or agree to putting themselves in such a situation. I simply stated that I myself wouldnt be able to deal with it. Divorce just like marrying multiple wives IS allowed in Islam you know.

Once again may Allah have mercy on you for calling us non-Muslims. For you have just done something that is totally unacceptable in the eyes of Allah. You have just lost your right to even argue about marrying multiple wives. apparently you dont even know proper Islamic etiquettes...what would u know about keeping your wife/wives happy!

afridi…there are many things that ordinary people like you and I cant comprehend. doesnt mean you have to question your faith…and certainly dont put the blame on others because you wont be able to get away with doing that on the day of Judgement. Seek knowledge. If you dont understand …ask someone who can explain it to you. Certainly Im not making it up…feel free to read the Quran and that verse on your own sometime.

also afridi just to explain the verses briefly…it’s not a contradiction…for Allah doesnt contradict. it simply means that there are possibilities of abusing Allah’s law (marrying more then one wife)..for which there is severe punishment.

Its funny. Today I went to an Indian grocery store, and the owner had up a poster of Rama (Krishna, someone in their hindu theology, I really don't know) surrounded by a whole bunch of women who were his wives.

It is Krishna. Rama was strictly ek-patni (one wife only).
