I personally don't have any favourites in these elections but would like to see hashmi loose. A sad end to his career, if PMLN wants they can bring him in from some other safe seat.

The beauty of all of this is a that if the votes swing everyone will say its rigging because the original trend showed Dogar as the favorite.
Well ... the only party that can rigged the election and swing the result is only PMLN, as election is get administered by bureaucracy, and election is in Punjab where PMLN controls the administration.
Only thing that is stopping PMLN from massively rigging the election is media presence as well as increased awareness amongst voters

Hashimi is live on TV right now almost accepting his defeat. Amir Dogar has 12xxx votes as compared to hashimi's 6xxx so far after 58 booths vote count out of 256 booths). He thanked PML(N) workers for working for him hard during this byelection. He said initial results and trend is not in my favor. I'll leave for china soon for healthcare treatment (not sure what soon means)
How is the candidate of "The only leader, the only hope" doing. Probably in a hopeless position trying to save his deposit.

Hashimi appears to be a one messed up person right now. REALLY feel sorry for him. He was one of the good guy (even before joining PTI). One of very few likable politicians.

I do not think PMLN has any safe seat across Pakistan including Punjab, so it seems Hashmi is gone.

Let me think about that.
Actually, if you would read my earlier post, I wrote that IF Hashmi** losses by 10000 votes.** So, it means I was expecting that Hashmi would get some votes. Right?

maybe he is receiving information from his agents in other polling station that the counting is not going his way.

Brother, this student union at university is very complicated thing. One cannot say what is behind the candidates mind and what he would be once grown up. Most student leaders are self centered and self serving students who use student parties to play in politics. Few have strong ideological commitments, rather most are opportunists ... though with time they could become good politicians, as they learn how to give speech, lie, interact with others, make promises they never intend to fulfill, do agitations, back-stab, and make fool of others.
For instance, Syed Munawwar Hasan joined NSF (National Student Federation) and was elected President of NSF but later joined Jamaet-e-Islami (and became Amir of JI too) ... a party with completely opposite ideological side of NSF.

So non govt parties can save votes given to them.
