Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
Aalsi,
"Now non-Karachiites are crying because all of a sudden the Karachiites are getting the jobs, which they could not get previously because they were born in Karachi"
FARID
Most NEDians were getting private sector jobs. Students from Jamshoro were getting state jobs on quota basis!
PTCL and WAPDA are examples for this.
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
Well Farid is very right in saying that MQM destroyed Karachi's education. Before MQM open cheating was limited to Lyari in Karachi. The nasty MQM made it rampant throuhgout the city!
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
Fraudia,
"this is still not from 1980s is it? or did posting this detail make it relevant for the institutions standings 20 years ago.
do you know why Dow is not on the list, cut and paste karna toh bohot asaan hai
here you go"
I never said that. However my appology not being thorough on Dow medical. I agree with Mostar 95 100% about destroying institutions of Karachi by MQM.
My father was also a graduate of first batch of qualified engineers of NED in 1943 when standard of that institution was superb and the engineering college was under Bombay University, still one of best university of India.
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
farid
like your father, my dad is also an NED graduate, although much later. other people in the family went to NED later.
NED of today is no longer the NED that existed even in the 80s because of the direct ghunda gardee and badmaashi of MQM. The only people they are hurting are people they claim they represent.
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
Some Karachiites tell me that in the 70's and early 80's, they could not even get a job if they could not speak Sindhi, or did not have an ID card that stated place of birth as Hyderabad or a place other than Karachi.

Aalsi,
"Now non-Karachiites are crying because all of a sudden the Karachiites are getting the jobs, which they could not get previously because they were born in Karachi"
I am Karachite by birth, I got job even before I was graduated from NED. Not only me but almost everyone got job who graduated that year. Don't misguide people here. NEDians had always given priority in jobs not only in Karachi but in whole Pakistan. As far I remeber most NEDians prefered to remain in Karachi or wanted to go abroad. I always read advertisements for engineers, which said that "graduated from Jamshore need not apply". While NEDians got the jobs very quickly, Meharn graduates were looking for jobs for many months after graduation. Mind you, Mehran graduates were not less quilified than NEDians. Your apprehensions are based on false or biased thinking.
FARID
Maybe it has to do more with the quality of education.... now we all know that jamshoro or mehran cannot compete N.E.D. in academics.
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
I think where MQM is destroying institutions in Karachi, at the same time there are other jamats/political parties destroying other educational institutions around Pakistan. This is a national issue. There is no place for political/religious parties in educational institutions… be it Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, etc.
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
Tell me why PPP, the most shamelessly corrupt party in the history of Pakistan with leaders like BB and Zardari who are world famous for corruption and nepotism get 100% of Sindhi votes? Is it not because Sindhis vote along ethnic lines?
Today, you can see MQM has Sindhi, Punjabi, and Pushtun members and leaders in it, so you are wrong when you say that MQM is only for Mohajirs.
Well, it might have been before May 12... Now I doubt you will even be able to get more Mohajirs to join the party..
Anyone with any sense would understand how much the party screwed up that day.

back in the day jamati thugs were kept in check by the likes of NSF. oh the fond memories of weirdo jammati kuttay getting chitrol in national collgge by the surkhay...
anyways, banning one type of groups but letting these psychos run around is def hurt ur institutions big time
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
i am so glad the MQM showed that day what it really is. a party which represents such a small group is allowed to create so much havoc?
oh yeah - sadly i dont think their vote bank would be affected - bhutto and sharif still could bring in votes eve though theymessed up 2 times in power.
why do pakistanis vote such bad people?

Come a long way from National College...matric mein kiya C division aai thi...
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
I have never supported MQM but surprisingly MQM has supported religious tolerence as evident by these facts:
On one side of its offices, there is a shia mosque + imam bargah namely Bu Turab.
On its other side - the place of worship of Ahmedis/qadianis
A few furlongs away in the north west, there's the taleeghi jamat markaz in Karachi - Madni masjid where people gather in their thousand over the islamic weekend
Next to this masjid is the Aga Khani's jamat khana!
In south east, there is a christian church.
Further down from there is a Al-hadees mosque!
Few hindus also reside in the area.
How are all the above points figure towards religeous tolerance !!! Political Parties dot have religionskewdeness.. how is MQM more tolerant in religeous affairs that PPP, PML(N),PML(Q), TI etc???
I was in Karachi few months back and on some local MQM channel Altaf was scolding Jamait-e-Islami in such a majlisi tone that it was very hard to tolerate that.. he is a fanatic..
Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony
so its not mean that etnic cleansing means actually killed them..also they killed them..but spreading hatred towards punjabis and other provinces is also taasub...regarding ahmedis and hindus...ahmedis are already non-muslims and hindus...your altaf say them brother..as he has 20 years relations with india a nd RAW etc...
What about PPI and Jamait not to mention the choora chamhar PPP?
I sure don't want to see them replace MQM in karachi!
