Exactly there is a huge Altaf's fat neck size distinction between mainstream political parties such as PML, PPP, ANP and MMA and the terrorist outfits such as MQM...none of the aforementioned parties engage in terror tactics that can be traced up the chain of command...Before, MQM can be taken seriously it will have to purge itself of all those elements that have engaged in terrorist activities and supported them in the past, which means pretty much everybody and that is their basic problem...they will have to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch...

Seriously, if mahajirs had lost all hope on Pakistan, they could choke the economy of Pakistan and even agitate to make karachi a free port city like Singapore. Your PPI and JI would be unable to do anything in that case.
