^ back to Mohajir qomi movement
So now Nabeel Gabol is a muhajir?!
In fact, there already is a party named Muhajir Qaumi Movement under Afaq. And that party is an ALLY of racist Sindhi parties.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
These “Opposition parties” do not represent majority of Karachi.
Targeted operation is definitely required. People have been dying to get rid of criminals, particularly from Lyari who are working with elements in Sindh government.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
cant happen, they want control of the city. MQM is not in power for the first time in decades.
"Control of the city". How sad. If only they could be elected representative of the city. But ... hey... they actually ARE.
The one who CONTROLS the city is PPP Sindh, and the whole city is burning due to that.
It is ridiculous to abuse MQM when it is PPP Sindh that is responsible for destruction.

MQM has no role in the destruction of the city?

so the targeted operation should be as per MQM's liking (the only stake holder of the city)? I have understood that MQM believes that the city has been destroyed by ANP, TTP and PAC. Although for neutral people MQM is also part of this equation.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army

MQM's policies have been terrible. But the present destruction of the city is unprecedented, and MQM is not responsible for it. As a supporting argument ... MQM has been around for several decades. It has been involved in forced chanda, but it never happened that businessmen had to close their businesses or be killed due to extortion.
The kind of weapons being used in Lyari have never been used in Karachi by any other group. It truly is a no go area where even an operation by police could not be successful.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army

It should be as per the DEMANDS of people like businessmen.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
Never before has racism been so openly proclaimed in Karachi. Never before have people been killed or evaculated from homes due to their race.
It is all due to racist elements in Sindh government.
Lyari gangland war hots up
KARACHIM - Ansoor Khan / RAMZAN CHANDIO - Law enforcement agencies have failed to maintain law and order in Lyari and adjacent areas where gangsters continued using rockets, grenades and other sophisticated weapons against each other on the third consecutive day on Friday
.The shootout continued in various localities of Lyari including Hangorabad, Agratajj, Phool Pati Lane, Chakiwara, Bihar Colony, Dubai Chowck, Maripur Road and other adjoining areas dominated by Kutchi people. The Friday gun battle left at least seven people dead and over fifty wounded. Exchange of fire, grenades and rockets continued in the areas,** forcing scores of families to abandon their houses and take refuge in shelter homes** established by Kutchi Rabita Council (KRC).
It has been learnt that Noor Muhammad aka Baba Ladla, a kingpin of Lyari, on Thursday night made announcements in the mosques of the troubled areas that** Kutchies, Kathiyawari, Memon and MQM supporters evacuate the areas within 48 hours.** Following the announcements, gangsters started attacks on Kutchi dominated areas in which three people were killed while fifty others were wounded.

Traders and Sindh government. If you care for Karachi then blame the culprit. Be just.
There are MULTIPLE business organizations which voluntarily observe strikes about worsening law and order situation.
Traders demand protection from lawlessness, extortion - thenews.com.pk
Javed MirzaFriday, June 07, 2013
KARACHI: Traders and businesses observed a shutdown in Pakistan’s business capital to protest against extortion and target killings that are on the rise again, business leaders told The News on Thursday.
“The sudden rise in criminal activities has come swift in the wake of the formation of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) government in Sindh,” they said.
The businessmen were speaking as the city observed a major political motivated shutdown on Thursday, which happened to be the first working day of newly appointed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had announced a day of mourning for the disappearances and killings of their supporters as well as the worsening law and order situation in Karachi. The protest paralysed the city: all business and trading activities ceased, causing an estimated loss of four billion rupees.
“The people of Sindh responded to our shutdown call, which is evidence of our mandate,” said Dr Sagheer Ahmed of the MQM.
Haroon Agar of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) denied that the business community was forced to shut down all business and trading activities and insisted they did so voluntarily in protest against the worsening law and order situation in the city. “We are quite disappointed with the fact that the PPP, which did nothing in its previous regime, has again formed the government in Sindh,” he said. “Businessmen and traders are receiving extortion threats, traders are being killed and people were living in fear.”
“The city of lights has been turned into the city of fear and blood,” said another business leader. “People, including the business community, are losing hope since the PPP has resumed charge of Sindh. In its last tenure, the party brought economic activity in the province to its lowest point and there appears to be no change in their attitude.” The businessman said that the ministers, advisers, provincial bureaucracy, police and rangers didn’t take ownership of the city. “They are busy filling their pockets at the cost of Karachi and this reflects in their performance.”
Atiq Mir of **All Karachi Tajir Ittehad **said that only the trading community incurred a loss of around two billion rupees and yet they preferred to keep their businesses closed. “There have been no reports of forced closure,” Mir maintained, adding that law and order situation worsened with a sudden surge in killings and extortion. “Around 300 traders are receiving extortion calls on daily basis, while an average 10 to 12 persons are being killed a day.” Mir claims that with fear stalking the business hub of Pakistan, business activities in the city have been halved.
Azhar Saeed Butt of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry said that MQM should be taken into confidence and the Nawaz Sharif government should pay heed to their woes and take steps to address them.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
The issue is that MQM's role in the lawlessness of the city is well known. The media is so scared of even naming them that when ever a miscreant is from MQM he is quickly labelled as namaloom. Agreed PAC and TTP have contributed in the lawlessness of the city, but that does not in any way diminish the role played by MQM. Any operation will be successful only if its done indiscriminately which is not possible when MQM, ANP and PPP start acting as victims as a result.
The power of MQM can be judged by a simple scale. The media openly blames TTP and PAC for their criminal activities but for MQM there is (always) a cover of Namaloom afraad.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
MQM is the root cause ... Karachi since 84 is a bleeding city , and it now has become an abnormal city .
...all other Fitna's PAC ,ST, PPP, ANP ,etc,etc.......are offshoots ...following the footsteps of MQM ]
it will take around 15-20 years or Normal Existence ... means minus the Fitna's ] to become a normal city again ...

Actually, media has not cursed any other party as much as it has cursed, abused, and ridiculed MQM. I don't know what media you are referring to.
Has MQM contributed in lawlessness? Yes. But so have many others. And whatever the case, current high spike of crimes and dying businesses are not due to MQM or ANP or Taliban. It is due to Sindh government's support of Lyari gangs.
So an operation must be targeted against them first and foremost.

MQM is NOT the root cause of destruction of the city. If you think this way then you have NO idea what is going on in the city. It is just your hatred.

No. But he is a prominent member from the troubled Lyari area and a Baloch himself.
Re: MQM demands Karachi to be handed over to the Army
It should be as per the DEMANDS of people like businessmen.
Targeted operation or simply policing or whatever you call it, should not be as per ANYONE's DEMAND or LIKING. it should be as needed, to clean the mess and keep it so
a peaceful city is good for everyone, businessmen or otherwise

No. But he is a prominent member from the troubled Lyari area and a Baloch himself.
two questions
1) did you see the post i was replying to before throwing in Nabil Gabol mahajir thing?
2) is Karachi all about lyari? and before lyari burst all over in last 1-2 years, was Karachi peaceful?

Yes it was peaceful, TTP and PAC are responsible for the law and order situation in the city.
