How the mighty fall! Hard to believe that this is the same Misbah, who many of us wanted to lead Pakistan as captain in the world cup. Well, I had been impressed by Misbah too but he let us down in the semi final and did not show the leadership that was needed of a senior player like him. He seemed to have forgotten that he was not playing a test match, where a draw would have sufficed and so staying on crease was all that was required of him. He needed to score runs. And fast.
i have been saying the team but here ppl are not believing that Younis razzaq and Afridi played bad shots too
but Misbah could have played a lil + too
That is true for almost whole team, Kamran should've restrained on the shot he played, Hafeez should not have played that shot, Misbah should've taken singles regularly, Younis should've played better, Umar Gul should not have bowled on leg-pads to Sehwag.... the list goes on and on for almost every player, lets just face it that our team crumbled against pressure and lost.

There was no support for him on the other end, what else did you expect, he was the only one on the pitch.........imagine yourself at his place and see other end, wickets dropping every 20 minutes without helping runrate. He saved your pride, from biggest embarresment by staying on the creese till the end otherwise your entire team was ready to wrap it up in 27th over..................

I am not against Misbah and certainly do not hold him solely responsible for the defeat. Having said that, our team did lose wickets because of pressure built at Misbah's end.
after reading htis thread one thing is clear if misbah didnt play in the semi finals the Indian team woudl have folded under 200 and all our world class batsmen would not have been under pressure and who knows even afridi would have scored a century.
While it w'd be wrong to proportion all blame to Misbah for the semi-final defeat, I feel that Pakistan can afford to play only one of Younus or Misbah in the team. There is a sameness about their style of play. Both struggle to rotate the strike and waste too many deliveries esp. in the beginning of their innings
On current form it should be Misbah. Younus should concentrate solely on test cricket. That is his forte
