That's exactly what I said - these were not their own words and they probably heard adults discussing them. I am not very familiar with society and etiquette in Pakistan, but the way the two girls spoke about someone older than their dad was definitely disrespectful.
Yah dont worry its much more civilized and respectful here than how it happens at your side :).
p.s so you agree they just said what they heard arnd frm adults n u think adults shud be calling misbah beta or uncle?! uh huh.
^it wasn't even disrespectful...the kids will just say what seems most probable only from what they saw...they dont understand the technicalities of the game. it was their reaction, leave them alone!
Misbah is no doubt a good player but his two innings (T20 final against India and Semi final against India) will always make us Pakistanis cry for a long long time :(
AA brothers. Let's think with a stable mind. Does superiority in cricket ranking actually make you any superior? Take the example of USA. They are neither a great team in cricket nor in Football, yet they are leading the world because of ideological reasons. Would you find migrants from America to India just because India is no. 1 in cricket? Would an American or a European give up his passport to get an Indian Passport and feel proud about it just because India is superior in cricket rankings? Rather, its the other way round. Rasulullah SAWS did not waste time on such useless matters and rather focused on the Ahkam as-Shariah which lead to the Islamic state which was dominating the world for more than 1000 years! The Islamic ideology is superior even to American Capitalist system and if implemented will once again make the Muslims the leaders of the world. Lets focus on that. This is a distraction from Satan to keep us busy in useless things while ignoring the important obligation of Islam. Lets rise and establish the Islamic ideology by establishing the Islamic State on the lines of the Prophethood, which is by the way, a promised prophecy.
I still am clueless why such a fuss if someone think that Misbah was at fault too. (which by the way he was).
Now this should not and does not automatically imply that no one else was at fault. Everyone has a hand in there, butter fingers of fielders, crazy shot by Hafeez, not-so-clever captaincy by Afridi, off day (in fact off tournament) of Younus, Razzaq, Gul etc etc but does this mean that you can not criticize Misbah for his performance (or lack of it) ?
or should we not talk about Misbah because he has done wonders in the past? lets keep living in Past.
facts are that Misbah had a big role in bogging down the run flow of Pakistan and if someone is mentioning that, that does not mean they are asking for Misbah's head.
As far as I am concerned, If someone want to dig in, they will figure out that I was not in favor of including him in WC squad all together. He really does not fit in scheme of things as far as ODI/T20 is concerned but if we want to close our eyes and keep thinking about the 2007 T20 WC, God bless Pakistan Cricket.
Why is Misbah alone being criticised when the rot was set in by Gul's bowling. misbah was as guilty as the rest of them so just to say that it was Misbah's fault is just not on. Look at my earlier post where I listed the list of blunders. Yes I agree Misbah was at fault but so was everyone else. So criticise everyone and stop picking on one player to satisfy our ego that it was only one player responsible for this defeat and if wasn't for him we would have won.

Essentially we are saying same thing.
BECAUSE thread is about Misbah, off course his short comings will be discussed in the thread the most. If someone opens thread about Afridi or Hafeez or Razzaq or Younus or Kamran or Gul, their short comings will be discussed there. if we open a thread to find out what went wrong overall, everyone's short coming will be discussed there.
There is nothing wrong in discussing shortcoming of a player one-by-one and no player should get leverage of "what has done for us in past". When someone shows individual brilliance, they get credit for that. It should work other-way round too.
Yar, Misbah pressure kiya dalta ... He should have played average ‘ODI’ cricket. Less than 3 runs per over is considered low run rate even for test cricket and he was consuming valuable ‘ODI’ overs at that run rate. The way Misbah (and yunus played), I do not know what they were doing other than wasting overs. Could not understand what these two could have achieved by making less than 3 runs per over.
Just imagine, Pakistan needed around 261 runs in 50 overs or ~5 runs per over.
When 7th wicket of Shahid Afridi fell and loss was certain, Misbah at that point made around 26 runs in 51 balls (at the end of 42nd over). If we include Yunus 13 runs in 32 balls, both culprits together made 39 runs in 83 balls (@ 2.8 runs per over).
As for rest of the team (Kamran, Hafiz, Asad, Umar, Razzak, Shahid) at the end 42nd over, together made 148 runs in 165 balls (@ 5.4 runs per over)
Pakistan was 187 for 7 in 248 balls (42nd over).
I am not going to play numbers game with you, just go and check out the final of T20 in 2007 how Misbah turned the table, from a dead lost game to nail-biting finish, it didn't matter how many overs/bowls were left, he just smashed sixes and fours and suddenly his SR rose from low to high.

Exactly, it was team failure rather than an individual or two.
Misbah, Shoaib & Younus's career in shorter formats is over for sure...they can still play some test matches...at gentlemanly leisure...but the shorter formats need brisk & blitz players...no dotballs draggings...
Earlier I have said this too:
For T-20 matches...the maximum age should be less than 25 years olds...fast game...faster decisions...which is beyond the capacity of a 35+ year old player...
For ODI...the maximum age should be 30 years olds...as the older players cannot stand the impact...hmmmmmmmmm
