If something makes you feel guilty doing it and afterwards..........it definitely has to be haraam. Why question it????? You guys are deriving meanings from the hadith just to content yourselves. If it was allowed, I am sure it would have been in the Quran.
Frozenfire: ^^ i am going to puke if you wrote another word on this issue.
I can’t believe this issue was discussed last year…
Anyway, I think after one has done it he/she should either wash or take a bath in order to pray etc.
I thought things that you can control are haram like drinking, drugs etc but masturbation is a whole different topic in the end its an uncontroable urge.
Okay, replace the pre-marital sex part with either dog saliva or pig--touching either requires cleaning and wudhu -- and then go back apply your logic.
Now, according to your logic I guess touching dog saliva and playing with pigs are acceptable, since washing afterwards makes you pak Are you really this thick? The idea behind this excercise was not to get too technical, but to make you see a flaw in your logic.
You havent addressed the first part of my post. Does "touching sexual organ" only imply masturbation and nothing else??
Since when is "touching your organ"=masturbation only. This is news to me.
So, the hadith simply proves nothing (pro or con) regarding masturbation.
this issue is discussed everytime a new guppi comes to age:-)
one would assume Mullahs had figured the answer to this question by now..but not.
usually answer to such questions go like this:
well...it looks like it should be haraam or at least makrooh...but ullemah are not agreed on that yet....according to hanafi it is.....but shia consider it............my local maulvi told me it is ok but my uncle who is a very learned man thinks it is not ok per hadith but ok per quran in arabic but not in english but if you really have to do it you can..otherwise don't.
It was used by the guy who wrote the fatwa. I'm assuming that the context of the hadith is masturbation. Depends on the commentary behind the hadith and what proof scholars have that the hadith does refer to masturbation.
said Allah:"And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) ;Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; "
"( والذين هم لفروجهم حافظون * إلاّ على أزواجهم أو ما ملكت أيمانهم فإنهم غير ملومين * فمن ابتغى وراء ذلك فأولئك هم العادون. "
The Believers 5-7
^.. exactly, i dont see how the above ayah is "just about intercourse" as PCG is repeating time and again.
Looking at the evidences:
- (the above ayah 23:5-7 and repeated at 70:29-31) you can tell that anything "beyond that" is wrong
- (4:25) Allah (swt) says: And whoever of you have not the means wherewith to wed free, believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess, and Allâh has full knowledge about your Faith, you are one from another. Wed them with the permission of their own folk and give them their Mahr according to what is reasonable; they should be chaste, not adulterous, nor taking boy-friends. And after they have been taken in wedlock, if they commit illegal sexual intercourse, their punishment is half that for free women. This is for him among you who is afraid of being harmed in his religion or in his body; but it is better for you that you practise self*restriant, and Allâh is Oft*Forgiving, Most Merciful.
- (24:33) Allah (swt) says: And let those who find not the financial means for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allâh enriches them of His Bounty
- The Prophet (saws) told us to faste if we couldn't marry
- The Prophet (saws) allowed temporary marriage, but not masturbation for those who were in the army.
- The Prophet (saws) allowed a man from his companions to marry a woman based on what he had memorized of the Quran (because he had no wealth - which is the most common excuse ppl today have for not marrying early)
So, even if someone can not conclude from the above that masturbation is forbidden, it is easy to see that it is atleast not Islamically sanctioned. Instead, lots of other solutions have been placed such as: marry early (even if you have no money), practice self restraint, fast, etc. So, I suppose the least one can do is exhaust the mentioned options before going on to masturbation..

the most suitable reply … u did not leave anything… Allah yajzeek khayr
jus checked out the topic. jus wanna no where is the evidence that states masturbation IS haraam?? we as muslims should not make something Haraam that Allah or the Messenger Have not made Haraam. please show me the evidence to state it is Haraam.
Porn is a different matter. Its a sin of the eyes - the sin that you are watching something sinful. Porn is where you watch OTHER people commit the act of adultery or fornication (given that some pornstars are married or unmarried).
Its not the same as masturbation, which is done privately.
I believe the Quran does address sin of the eyes - i.e. WATCHING willfully and with pleasure another sin taking place. Or maybe its in a hadith. Can't remember.
Porn is zina of the eyes. Looking at a nude picture of a girl (not performing sex) still titillates your senses.
Masturbation is not a private act, since it is impossible to perform that deplorable act without visualizing a partner (whether imaginary or real)
Porn is often used to make the visualizing part easier.
Disclaimer: The purpose of this post is not to either validate or invalidate masturbation, but to show that neither porn nor masturbation is a private act.
I wont get into specifics of what one can POSSIBLY imagine while masturbating. That's another topic altogether, and I doubt its suitable for this place.
And what prompted you to bring up the example of computer-animated characters?
That is a tough one. Intuitively, I would suggest to stay away from it, and I still think that porn, even computer-animated porn, should be kept away from. Comon, we all know that porn is not a video of two believers engaging in the halaal act of sex. Its usually sex that is done in a fornicating-adultery-homo-lesbian-violent, etc style. Stuff that is not halaal to begin with. It would be classified as a sin of the eyes. That you're willfully watching something that is not for you to watch.
Either you're watching something that is haraam and enjoying it. Hence you're enjoying something haraam. Not to mention that you shouldn't be looking at or staring at someone's awrah. Keep your eyes lowered, says the Quran.
Or - even if what you were watching was done in a halaal style - its an invasion of privacy (whether the person in the video wishes you to watch or not).
And watching someone ELSE have sex is not the same thing as stimulating yourself. They're two different actions.
