I am also doing this. It is Haram as Mufte Shiekh Abdulaziz bin Baaz Rahimahullah refered it to Surah mominoon in which it is written that the one how uses any way other than his wife or loonde he is doing sin.
I think this problem is increased due to showbiz. Almost all young boys n girls are involved in it.

The anathema of masturbation is very common among young and adolescent boys. One reason for this habit is the unrestricted movement of women on the streets, in the market places and at recreation centres. Women go about in tight-fitting and revealing garments, unmindful of the presence of men.
Obscene scenes in plays and films promote sexual self-indulgence. Periodicals and magazines that contain romantic and sexual matter lead young boys and girls to shamelessness and immodesty.
Youngsters who are not inspired by the fear of Allah Ta’ala and of the consequences of their actions, are apt to gratify themselves by committing fornication and other unlawful acts, or by resorting to self-indulgence. These harm the body, the mind and affect one’s psychological health.
Physical Health
A person who masturbates becomes weak and thin, palpitation increases and his memory becomes weak. The digestive system is impaired and inflammation of the lungs occurs. One may also become anaemic.
Sexual Health
Impotency is the natural outcome of masturbation. A boy who has indulged in the habit of masturbation is not capable of marriage when he grows up. If he does marry, his wife hates him and often husband and wife may divorce. If the woman is pious, she will become depressed and if she is not, she will resort to unlawful acts.
Psychological and Mental Health
A person who masturbates will suffer psychological problems and is liable to mental illnesses like forgetfulness, loss of memory, weak determination, preference for solitude, extreme shyness and fear, being sorrowful and possibly contemplate some serious crime or even suicide.

Is this guy living in the 21st century? What next, the earth is flat?
If this was really a sin, most of the men on earth will end up in hell. I say forget about it man, have a good time. Sexuality is not something to be shunned.

Hear hear! Finally someone who is not a total loss. I don’t know where people get the idea that masturbation is haraam. Quran doesn’t say ANYTHING about masturbation.

How to stop it? There are various options:

Use ice packs
Remove the problem
try standing on your head

is it haram? tell me, when u have too much snort, do u not 'blow' it out, that is a very natural phenomena, so why sud this be any different?

The Quran doesn't say many things. It simply lays out the structure of religion. This is why we value and use hadith.

If you stricly followed the Quran and rejected hadith etc (many people do) and rejected all "interpretations" of the Quran - then masturbation wouldn't be haraam. The Quran does mention the general concept of chastity (which is defined in many different ways by people - most of which include refraining from masturbation)

**"And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." 23.5-7

Similarly the Quran tells you to pray, but doesn't go into the specifics. If you only followed the Quran, you wouldn't know exactly how to pray namaaz either since the Quran does not give a step by step guide.

I am not sure. I have also wondered about this, because I don't remember seeing any studies saying that it is harmful.

Just a note: the fact that it is beneficial doesn't make it mubah. Red Wine is also good for you, but still haraam.

we all are humans, we are not super humans. we all are under the influence of nature. It's not easy to escape these things. Just because a few can escape doesn't mean all can control it. Besides, according to me it's stress reliever. If we start stopping it by force, we "may" become violent also to relieve that stress.
