i personally know of someone who did. she handled marriage, kids, in-laws very well, everyone raves about her but over time i have started noticing a certain level of insecurity in her...her hubby treats her like a kid (even after 4 kids) hesistant to put trust in her abilities as more than a wife or mother (as in outside of home) this is starting to pull her down. she enjoyed being 'babied' initially i guess but i think now she is acting out in order to be noticed as more than just a wife or a mother, which by the way she is awesome at and i keep reminding her of it.

A number means nothing really. Sometimes things that you'd been through or the way you're raised up make you more mature and wise than other women of your age.

It shouldnt be assumed that anyone marrying an 18 year old will be 40 themselves. :)
My best friend married when she was 18 and her hubby was 20...she had a LOT of problems but Alhumdulillah is really happy now.
From the tone of the OP, it seems like he/she is talking about a a significant age gap though. I wouldnt be in favor of that.
Guys like that simply use the girl for a bit and then treat her like a little trophy they display everytime company comes over.

18 is a tad young to be given so big a responsibility, but cheers to you if it works out well.

If a young man marries 18 years old, they have a long time to enjoy marriage and not be running around and end up like so many we know still looking around for a mate.
Besides the kids are better care for with younger parents who understand and enjoy their activities better and the time when kids grow up, the parents are still young and can enjoy the rest of life again, perhaps with grand kids.
The problem is when they both are not financially strong. At least, man should be financially stable for this to work out.

I consider myself lucky to get married at 18 and had kids.....past 5 or 6 years were difficult and very busy but now i can see a whole lot of opportunities waiting for me to make my career by starting studies again, volunteer working or doing and learning all the things I wanted to do without any fear in terms of finances, inshallah.

that is not the only problem. You barely know who you are at 25, let alone 18. Especially today - you havn't finished your education, not seen anything
What is the rush with finding a "mate". Precreating early? Good for you. It just means your body will fail quicker.
as a disclaimer. I am talking from a purely objective rational point of view. If you were wed age 16, this isnt a value judgement (necessarily)

Somee People Are Ready &+ Mature At The Age Of 16, A Friend Of Minee Did And She's Happily Married Mashallah. It All Depends On The Individual :) As Long As Both Parties Aree Happy It's All Void :D x
