Sup!..Marrying financially un-stable person.. ain't no cool. What i say is..if a chap got decent job and responsible man. Then..there is nothing wrong with marrying. If someone doesn't have a job and financially dependent..ya that is not good. I do know people who weren't good financially..when they got married. But..they are extremely happy now Mash'Allah. Depends on the individual..how responsible he is..

Didn't have no job or nothin'. I don't know why you had to get married. You can be po' on yo' own -- you don't need no he'p."
That's the thing: You don't need any help to have financial difficulties in this world. You need the opposite.

In a manner of speaking, yes. Financially stable doesn't have to mean rich. It means having a job, or working towards one, and living within your means and being financially responsible. I wouldn't marry a girl who has a ridiculous amount of debt accumulated through shopping, or someone who spends all of their income on themselves because mommy and daddy pay for room and board. Even if men are expected to provide, both should know how to properly budget the family's income.

^ good point, and its not just that, I know of a guy who could not rent places because his newly wed wife had crappy credit, and the rental agency needed all ppl living in the place to meet their credit requirements. So even thought she was not expected to contribute financially, her poor credit caused them many issues, car insurance rates for the family was another. these are just two examples of the types of issues ghost points out which a couple can run into

I see no issue with guys looking for an educated, financially savvy girl.
It's not just about a guy's earning ability. If something happens to him, can his wife run a household, he could be injured and out of work for an extended period or could die. Then what?
The same factors that a girls parents look for in order to protect the interests of their child, are the factors a dude can look for in order to protect the interests of his kids in the future.
