TLK, I just want to say that your generation and my generation is NOTHING like the current generation. I have seen girls openly give gaaliyan to their future in-laws on Twitter and all their friends chug along and giggle. Forget gheebat, the women in your age group would never do that. The girls in my age group wouldn’t do that … but the generation after us are on a whole other level when it comes to the internet.

If you talk to generation before your’s/mine they will pehaps say “taubah taubah” about things our generation do.

Just last week I heard auntie saying about her grand-daughter

“kia besharmoon ki tarha Riaz (fiancee) k saath tasweer banwa rahi ho. Hamarey zamaney main yee sub nahi hota tha”

This is life cycle.

just because the MIL-DIL battles now take on an additional internet dimension doesn’t mean previous generations were all obedient footmassaging DILs and warmhearted MILs.

I tried to highlight that there is no fear of consequences with people nowadays. There is no fear of being caught. You are anonymous on the internet. You can do what you want, say what you want and nobody will catch you.

different times, different ways of venting/rebeling/whatever. i really dont see any new level of evil in the next generation. they are more self-sufficient and therefore less tolerant towards being taken for granted or taken advantage of.

and as for anonymous stuff targeting MILs online, i don’t even see what the issue is, to be honest. no body will catch you? catch you doing what?

but I must say I totally understand now where he came up with the whole “must be an issue there because of the cold weather” …putting together the fact that he’s obviously well-acquainted with Debbie and that he lived for years in the cold belt bordering Canada…
