what will u suggest for wedding. i am not getting married soon but i wana know what would u girls prefer.
i like maroon not the dark, the reddish maroon color. and my mom like red. so whenever we have convo on this, it ends up on nothing
6 of my cousins got married out of which 2 wear red and the other 4 wear dark maroon ( with off course that golden and silver work on lehnga)
i want some thing different. sometimes i think of making maroon and rust combo for lehnga, and sometimes maroon with turquoise and green for gharara.
i am planning to wear my moms gharara on my mehndi. that is of pure banarsi stuff in deep red color with yellow dupatta and shirt (probably will do gota work on dupatta and shirt).
then the other confusing thing is valima colors. i want some light colors may be combination of two.
i need your suggestions.
and also will it look okay if i am wearing gharara on mehndi and again wear gharara on barat day …?
i always wnted maroon and i even gt a maroon lengha bt at the end i ended up wearing red n let me tell u it just looked so amazing in my opnion i wudnt hve looked the same wid maroon

Lol... I also want to wear one my mom's gharara on my mehndi..One of her gharara was red and one was shocking pink with green shirt and dupatta, I just want to change the shirt and dupatta to yellow....lol...(I am not sure which one to wear, I am leaning more towards shocking pink but not sure at the moment, it is way too early...lol) and for my wedding dress I want a lengha in green/bottle green most probably. It is my favorite color and for valima I want a pishwaz in royal blue with another lighter tint of blue. i want the lighter blue to be the base and the kam in royal blue copper gold, and silver...lolz
Anyway, back to you...lol... I think it really depends how the colors have been put togather. A red maroon with rust or copper will also look really nice.
that looks like red to me... maroon is way darker.
also consider what will go with what suits your complexion too... some people can't pull off red very well but look stunning maroon, and vice versa. have you worn other jora's in these colors before? i'd say get one each made and wear 'em and see... usually theres a clear winner :)
lusi, bottle green- is that emerald green? or am i thinking of a glass 7-up bottle like you got in karachi?
You really have to take your colouring into consideration. I love maroon, but certains shades of darker maroon would look awful on me. I ended up with anar (pomengrate) red for my shadi outfit and the colour was just right. They have so many reds out there ... anything from tomato red to cherry red to maroons ..... you have to go with what works best for you.
Im inclined towards golds and platinum's I havn't even brought-up the color with my in-laws to be..cuz I have a feeling she wants red/maroon =( SGC, could u please post pics of the colors u mentioned..plum,berry..watermelon...I want sumthing different..
wearing gharara on two occasions is fine - just make sure u go for a different look for each day - e.g. different hairstyle, jewellery, makeover, etc... combo of orange/rust wid red looks good for main day too, as well as maroon wid rust/orange like u sed... its d warm earthy colours dat really look traditional for d main day...
as for walima, combo of pistachio green wid peach looks great or tea pink wid ferozi or electric blue... good luck wid watever u choose!
i think plum, raspberry or even maroon, with lilac would be a beautiful combo. and the lilac can be sort of metallic and not pastel… so it might be a good compromise for you, gina, with your MIL.
i also love eggplant.
in fact, that dress is floating around here somewhere… but it was an HSY one with a eggplant purple dupatta, the shirt and lehenga were raspberry, and it had burnt orange accents. it was gorgeous! those colors work so well together.
