Re: Maroon or Red
All red is amazing..
I wonder how deep purple and turqoise would look?
Gaudy?
Re: Maroon or Red
actually i was wondering the same thing last night... i have a jora that is turqoise and lilac and looks amazing, but i wonder how that would translate to a gharara...
Re: Maroon or Red
I ended up with anar (pomengrate) red for my shadi outfit and the colour was just right. They have so many reds out there ... anything from tomato red to cherry red to maroons ..... you have to go with what works best for you.

i think plum, raspberry..
i also love eggplant.

Re: Maroon or Red
it really depends on what goes well with your skin you have to go out and try different outfits.........when we were shopping for my sis's lengha it was so hectic since their are so many choices and so many variations on every single colour.........her lengha is a reddish maroon mixed with orange and light green looks really good.........but if you want the red it looks really good with orange and maybe some other colour............goodluck with whatever you decide.......when the time comes and you go shopping you're going to go in the store with one thing in mind and then come out going oh wow i didn't even know that colour existed lol
Re: Maroon or Red
The colors these days are so nice u'll go bonkers! Even if you have a set color combo in mind u'll prolly end-up chosing sumthing diff =)
I wanted Aqua and sea-green for my engagement and came back with a mint and lavender outfit and a mango/saffron one.
Re: Maroon or Red
i ate a blood orange this morning and what a gorgeous color there is inside one! that should be another option, methinks... its this gorgeous pinky-reddy-orangey color... mmmm.... delicious!
Re: Maroon or Red
I say go for Red! Blood red. Classic
Re: Maroon or Red
actually in october i did shopping for my bhabi (cousin's wife) i didnt find any thing like WOW i want this. its not like that i didnt like anything. but the thing is whatever they have i would like to wear it with some alterations :)
i should have some thing in mind so that it become easy to choose. i think i'll go to fashion ka gher or mohsin sons. let see what will happen. i am still confused. i have something in mind but i dont know how to transfer it on a paper. either i have to go to a designer to do that for me or any one who knows how to make a sketch design on papers can help me out.
your replies and advices are highly appreciated :)
i think i should go for deep deep red (maroonish red may be) with ascents of dark green and turquoise. jamawar gharara with china crinkle (or the thin jamawar fabric in use i dont know the name of that fabric) dupatta and shirt.
Re: Maroon or Red
There are so many shades of red..crimson, blood-red, cherry-red..tomato-red...I love the rich ruby color!
Re: Maroon or Red
go to a fabric store and drape yourself with every shade of red you can find...whichever looks good :)
Re: Maroon or Red
Uff chanda deciding on colors is the hardest part.. =( aqua n dusty pink..then platinum n red...aubergine n bottle green.. uff!
Re: Maroon or Red
just remember, whatever colors you choose, YOU must be the one wearing the outfit, the outfit should not be wearing you... a lot of times i see pics where the bride is wearing so much jewellery and such colors that you don't see her face, you're just focusing on what she's wearing and how matchy-matchy the whole look is -- but the bride is the bride, she's the focus of the entire affair, so therefore people must look at her face first, see how her personality shines through in all the details on her dress, and see how she carries the outfit and how well it looks on her. its all about confidence and posture. :)
Re: Maroon or Red
yeah..basically its how you carry the look...i would start off by eliminating the colors that i KNOW for sure that wont work...then go from there...
Re: Maroon or Red
SGC I'm still taking you to Karachi for my wedding shopping..so spend Ramadan in Dubai with me n u're folks..
