I was talking to a cousin of mine from Canada who recently moved from Pakistan.
My cousin had nothing but negative things to say about the mela, I'm not sure which one she went to. She went to one of the melas and was completely horrified at the behayai and hullarbaazi going on in the mela. She grew up in one of the most cosmopolitan parts of Pakistan and went to college and university there but had never seen performances and an atmosphere of this nature there. She was like fankaar bhee aisay aisay bulayay huay thay jin ko pakistan tak mein to koi dekhne na jayay.

Umm, well there was these coupla booty shakin tummy bouncin thumka extreme dance items by this lady in red. I'm not sure if there were similar performances at the other mela. But those dances you see at your average joe's mehndis anyways so i dont see why only the mela should be considered bayhayaa! :p

anyways so yea the only ppl who guessed it right were ppl who have seen my pics b4 except Muslim Queen…she did a good job guessing…the water cooler is hers…:~)
The mela was gooood but only the stalls “waghera” and the Abrar part
the rest was so booring
the local singers tried their best but …they were local…
on our way we were thinking we were gona be late as the mela started at 11 am and we reached at arround 5-6 and cheegum told me he would be there at 4… but when we got there and called him he was even late… 
It was fun meeting u guys again…

while we were standing on the bench waiting for abrar one of teh guys infront of us was dancing to some song my Tafu i think and as he was standing at the cornerof their bench he fell on a lady sitting on a chair close to their bench..and just got up and ran away lol

yea the fights are a normal thing in a desi mela but the cat fight…thats a rare sight..
thats another thing…they could have had it in a hall or something… its always better there

you know it wasn't half bad. Just wished the first concert/mela me attended had better performers. not critiszing abrar here but just not a aja behja cycle person :) was enthralled by the pakistani community there.
the chuni munni bachi should have been at home not prancing out infront of a crowd as such...now that was just unwanted...thankfully most of the male half of the crowd agreed to this fact as well. the local singers....asad as me remember...is he the same person who sings at some parties here...the UofT grad? Didn't find his work to be that great...so maybe i'm confusing asads here or maybe its yousuf whose supposed to sing well??
It was hilarious on the way out...wayy too crowded and a two way road to that :p would defo go to one again...if the likes of junoon and fuzon decide to drop by some time :)
