For good makeup application u need a set of great makeup brushes.. a couple basic ones are:
small blending brush: this is used to apply u’re shadow to u’re entire eyelid
angled brush: used to apply shadow to the crease
liner brush: to apply u’re cake liner..it has very firm bristles
lip-brush: a retractable one is ideal for home-use and to carry in u’re bag
large powder brush: usually used to dust-off excess powder and apply a thin layer of loose powder
countouring brush: a smaller/narrow brush used to contour the sides of u’re nose, jawline and temples.
I recently bought a foundation brush by NO.7 which is available here in the UK but i really need to say that it just didnt work for me at all ..
Maybe cuz i am used to applying the foundation with my fingers but also the brush leaves strikes and i feel like that i cant blend it in properly as with my fingers ...
but now i am really thinking to invest in that dou fibre brush by MAC which is a round shaped big brush and recommended by so many Make up gurus on YouTube that i will definitely give it a try ...
^^ can u tell us which brush u use for what and what number those brushes have ??
Here are the ones I have...
Eye-shadow:
- Small angle brush: For applying eye-shadow under the eyes.
- Brow brush: Application of brow-powder (I have the brow-kit from Shiseido)
- I also have the brow brush from Chanel.
- #228: For the crease.
- #231: For over-all application of the shadow.
- Large shader brush: For blending.
- Blending brush: For blending. (Though, I have to say that I like the Large Shader much better!)
- Pencil brush: Over-all application of the shadow.
- Fluff brush: Blending
Lip:
- Retractable lip brush: For applying lipstick. LOVE IT!
Face:
- Foundation brush (Not too crazy about this one though... I like using my fingers instead.)
- Concealer brush... which I barely use.
- Powder brush (Use it for setting/ application of translucent powder by Bare Escentuals.)
- Medium powder brush (#150): LOVE IT! This is the one I use the most... carry it with me everywhere, school, work, weddings.
- Blush brush (#116): This is very similar to the #150... so you might want to get just one of them.
- Contouring brush: Which I RARELY use... not sure why I even bought it. You could just use one of the other (face) brushes to contour.
- Fan brush from Smashbox... Don't really get much use out of it.
I have an obsession with Mac brushes... I end up buying one every time I walk into their store. :(

Ya i know the MAC Shop is very tempting... but i always buy from the duty free shops at the aiport cuz i tend to travel every month whenever i go to visit my parents, so somehow they work out a lil bit cheaper ..
