Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Wow I'm quite surprised you had a bad experience with Annie Shah I heard she was really good and yes her eye make-up does stand out. Oh and her hairstyles do look limited. However these days some brides opt for having a seperate make-up artist and hair stylist e.g. Uzma Rafiq, Dar or Bashir.

She's actually got a point there. Less is more on older women as make up can often settle in to wrinkles and cause skin to look more aged.

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Well not really, every make up artist should do clean skin and good eyebrows. She should either charge me less or actually do something to make abit of an impact! i guess as naveeda did a WOW job on mum , i was expecting the same thing...

oh well!

do you guys look for make up artists for you mum/ sisters etc?

hey Zainab,

yes i've had my trial with Dil Matharu he was fantastic his makeup is really up to date. I liked it anyway. his hair and makeup are both amazing. i know what you mean no real brides i did ask him and he showed me some, the all looked flawless one bride i couldn't belive in fact the transformation was great. Hes one of the best around, i'm going to see him later this year when my full outfit comes, also annie shahs work looks ok a bit back home style BUT on a mum you should put less, in fact one of dil's girls is going to do my mums and sil's hair and makeup and they both had a trial, with his assistant.

How did she fill in thinning gaps?

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

i wasn't paying attention but she spent about 45 mins doing it up. She used i think a mixture of a powder and backcombing !

honestly i don't know if many make up artists can do that! if you really want to know i can ring her and ask the actuals instead of a guess!!

OMG :o why are MUA so expensive?? £900+?? :O that's shocking! I was expecting it to be about £400 plus! Does anyone know of any MUA in the hampshire area?

Hello peeps....

Ambreen
Lubna Rafiq
or Moona Baig

Thank u..... It would b a greatttt helpp......

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

asu ki jatti

I don't think anyone can help particularly when it comes to MUA...i guess you have to go on their respective websites and decide who's makeup style you like and also maybe go for trials?

I think people can only give their opinions but at the end of the day you have to decide who's makeup would suit you

:)

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

THANKS CUPCAKE.....I STILL WANTED TO KNOW OUT OF THEM WHICH TWO SHALL I GO FOR TRIALS TO....WHICH USUALLY GIVE A COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION......
AS TRIALS WOULD COST ME AROUND £300 ODD, AS I AM IN WALES, TRAVELLING COST WILL COST EXTRA......

:d

No worries.. I'm dreading choosing mua.. It seems like the most hardest challenge to do! I suppose it's more important because you live so far out! Are there not any mua near Wales because London to Wales seems such a long journey and to pay for that will be a hefty sum! What kind of look are you going for? Maybe try speaking to the ones you've narrowed it down to on the phone and see what they're like as well? x

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

I will do that....thanks cupcake
I will try and research abit more....but if anyone else has any info on their experience with any of these mua that would be brilliant..
thankssss

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

I actually have none :( all the ones listed here i hadn't even heard of. I think i'm going to look at an asian bride magazine because they have MUA in there..also going to search locally but i think i've got some time.. 2 YEARS! :-P

I everyone, I'm back. I booked dil for my wedding at the end of july 2 months ago. Paid my deposit and have been trying to get a trial session for the past 2 weeks and he is not returning any of my phone calls or email and my wedding is in 2 weeks.

Can someone please give me some advise as to what to do or even recommend another MUA at short notice. I'm not looking for a traditional look.

urgently need help!!

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Hey do you know if he has any other numbers to contact or like a studio address? That's really unprofessional of him especially when your wedding is so close! Maybe start looking for other Mua while your waiting for him to contact you? If it gets to next week maybe book another person? Have you already paid him?

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Hey ashes, I know Dil Matharu has an assistant that deals with his calls, when i had my trial with him his phone was ringing off the hook and they were all brides wanting to book, so I guess hes just busy with the season, ive tyred calling him and left a message and hes called back a day later, Dil did say to me one thing he likes to try and deal with his brides personally which i guess i hard when he has hundreds a month

Hi Ashes, and all brides to be out there, I finally had my trial with Zukreat!!! She did an amazing job on me in my trial, so much so I can't wait for the wedding now, I'm so excited!! She's also such a sweet lady, plus as she doesnt advertise in magazines, most of her brides are from word of mouth, like myself, which is probably why she doesn't need to advertise. She knew exactly what I wanted when I tried to explain the look to her and made me look better than I ever thought I would look and so ashes if your still stuck on finding a good and reliable makeup artist, then **I would highly recommend Zukreat, this is her website is bridalmemories and her number is 07850-900-192. Please let me know how your trial goes, I'm sure you'll be really happy with her!
