Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

hey akh12, I know its expensive but its worth the money in the long run i guess, to get elite muas like dil matharu or ambreen, lubna your pictures will be with u forever,

I guess I know that even if I didnt pay ridiculous amounts, my make up/pics would still be great ;) Max il pay is £500. Bobbi brown only charge £100 i think and do a great job, but then I would have to look for someone to do dupatta setting etc which is gonna be a hassle.

Ambreen is asking for £1200.. sorry but thats crazy! Cant believe people think its acceptable to charge that amount.

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

oh i see, why dont you try Dil matharu? see what he quotes? or lubna, I have her.

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

He qouted me about 950 aswell.. which is alot I think? I rang Lubna and she qouted abt 950 but reccommended Naz from Bradford (her work is veryyyy good) but she's booked on both of my dates, gutted! We really need a good mua up north.......!

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

yeah, I suppose it depends, I would if I could, I tryed Dil matharu and i'm london based he quoted me £450 and luba was around the same, so i guess its the price of another bride, £1,200 is a bit too much for somthing you wont keep,

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

£450 is fine but anything beyond £500 is just silly. Suppose the additional cost of travelling is what provokes such high prices. Im sure it'l work out :D

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

inshallah, it will you will make a stunning bride best of luck x

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Akh12 If you can book with Dil Matharu its worth it! hes in high demand, hes doing my barrat i've go ambreen for my walima, ive heard good things from freinds that have seen brides of theirs at weddings which is why i booked, ashes i agree Dil does the best eyes.

Ruby - aww thanks hun and im sure u will aswell! x

Devi - I would love to but im afraid I cant, he's charging alot more much because I live very far from London. £2000 for barat and walima make up? worth it? Im not too sure................

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

£2000 yaar thats alot.

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Thought so :( plus my fiance thinks im crazy for spending that much.. he reckons i wud get away with doing my normal make up.. guys eh lol

true...... men eh mine said you dont need a makeup artist do your makeup how you do everyday! (which consists of compact powder kajal and lip balm!) could you imagine why dont u try a local mac counter?

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

I had a trial with Ambreen and the makeup was too heavy for my liking, I want someone who can apply makeup without telling me, it will look good in the photos, I want it to look good on me on the day, not just afterwards :( I'm worried now because I had my hopes pinned on her and now I'm not sure who to go with. A friend of mine has had her makeup done my Zukreat of Bridal Memories, has anyone else had their makeup done by Zukreat. MY friend highly recommends her and I must say she did look stunning on her wedding day. But I just thought I'd check with you guys to see if anyone else has tried her out, plus the real brides on her website look amazing. Am I just worrying for nothing, please help :(

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

How much does Ambreen charge?

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

wow have prices under one month gone so much high?!

i was getting quotes between 400-500 and i thought that was too high !

so i went for one make up artist, and got a little itsy bitsy discount, and even then i thought im paying too much. But i did not want to experiment with two different make up artist, wanna settle with one, so its a bit easier to work with one throughout the wedding. and they kind of get their "hands" around your face, and now how to work on you

I have Lubna btw. still havent gotten my trial done. Am waiting for my bridal dress yet to arrive :)

ooh i heard that too about ambreen its quite heavy what did you not like? try Dil Matharu, I've got him booked in his style is more eye focus and more up-to-date base and lipstick. zukreat I havent heard of i've just looked at her site looks ok,

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

Annie Shah is really good as well, her prices are a lot cheaper than Lubna, Ambreen etc she quoted me £300-350 including bridal trial. Oh and she sounds like a lovely person!

Shabana from Southall is also very good and much cheaper, my sister got her wedding day and walima make-up and hair etc done in the salon for £220 each day. She did an amazing job but I would recommend Shabana for a house visit instead for bridal make-up and I think she charges £300 upwards depending on location.

Google 'Shabana make up' and 'Annie Shah' to view the websites as I can't send links on here.

Look on Facebook for more bridal artists it's got loads on there.

Hope that helps. x

Hi Devi123,

Have you had your trial with Dil yet? If so how did it go, the problem I have with, Ambreen, Dil, and Jawwad is that on their sites they have no images of real brides? I wnt to see what a real bride would look like after they have worked on her. I'm no model, and all the above three makeup artists have professional models on their sites. I want a realistic idea of what they can do on a real bride. My experience with Ambreen wasn't a good one and I'm curious to know how your trial with Dil went. So far Zukreat has been highly recommended to me by 3 other people and yesterday I was actually invited to a wedding where Zukreat was the makeup Artist!! The bride looked AMAAAAZIIIING, everyone was in awe!! So I think I'm def gonna book her no doubt!!!! I'm so EXCITED!!!!!!!! :DDDDD

Re: Makeup Artists in UK [all threads merged]

I had naveeda for my engagement..............she was AMAZING.

She has a bit of a rep of being a horrid lady but NO WAY. Ask any bride, she tells everyone to get lost purely because she does not want to be distracted or for you to be distracted.

She is the complete package, duppata setting, putting your lengha bottom on , adjusting and pinning it all up correctly etc she does it all.

I loved my make up, she can do any style really. I asked for my skin to be matched to my chest and neck as i really didnt want to have foundation on it ( as i had my hair down and the thought of my hair touching the foundation was just erghhhh !! if my hair was up i would not mind!) ....

And Naveeda did my mums hair and make up. My mum looked the BOMB! she has thinning hair , and naveeda backcombed, filled in hair gaps the works.

Also i danced around , etc .. i have oily skin to my make up didnt budge until i rubbed my forehead and eyes out of tiredness at around 1am!

I had annie shah for my sister in laws wedding. She was OK. eye make up was good .... but thats easy as its not bridal. She didn't set my duppata and her hairstyles are limited. She didn't do a good job on my mum's make up and actually upset my mum by saying something like ' older women shouldn't use alot of make up' ....

Right.
