Make-Up (Buying essentials)

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

Prepping u're skin with a gud moisturizer is a MUST and allow it to absorb (atleast 20 mins) then use a yellow-based concealer and hide all u're flaws then use a full-coverage foundation stick (liquid slides off n melts away) and set u're entire face with loose powder.

I apply foundation and pressed powder before applying eye-shadow, the color of u're eye-lids changes the shadow/color so it's best to use an over-eye, under-eye concealer that way u're eye-shadow won't crease either =)

For stay-put lipstick apply vaseline on u're lips and brush with a soft-bristle brush and get rid of all the dry skin. Then apply liquid foundation and pat with a tissue. Line u're lips with a neutral lip-pencil and contour (if needed) fill in =)

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

I personally don’t use water wid foundation as i use special camera-based foundation on my clients to achieve d total flawless look for their big day unless of course the client prefers not to - i then tend to use other good brands of foundation that blend well and stay put for d whole day… i think u may be referring to d Kryolan foundation stick that beauticians use in pakistan - that stick foundation actually requires water for it to blend into d skin - whereas normal everday foundations do not require water - but just a good base of moisturiser beforehand to prepare d skin… hope dat answers ur question.. x

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

my makeup artist used the kyrolan stick but she didn't use water with it... she just asked me to make sure my skin was moisturised beforehand and not dry, which makes sense.
whenever i apply liquid foundation, i always mix it in the palm of my hand alongwith some moisturizer... it makes a huge difference to the way it goes on and stays on.

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

No itz the beauticianz in the uk ...who use normal foundation, not kryolan...but yeh umm it does actually look better wen u apply the water with any ordinary liquid foundation too, but dunno y itz done lol...anywayz thnx for the reply.

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

I haven’t ever tried the foundation stick thing…i seen ppl wearing tht but it doesnt look gud…makes the whole face look fake, with loadz of layers on there lol (mayb it had’nt been applied properly :meeno: ) i prefer using the liquid foundation mixed with water…

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

moisturizer along with foundation sounds lot better... I will probably try that next time. Thanks for the tip...

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

they’re probably not blending it right… that makeup stick should really only be used by MUA’s for either brides or photo shoots… its definitely not for every day or regular parties.

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

Sticks are for heavy coverage =) but if u have flaws u may hide them using the stick on only those area's and use a liquid foundation on the rest of u're face. I LOVE Bobbi Brown sticks...

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

oh boy oh boy:cool:**! Now that I have all the amazing suggestions…when should I buy my make-up…I have heard it tends to “expire” in 6 months to a year’s time! (provided I am getting married this August) **

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

U can purchase it now…on any product it has a small pic of like an open cylinder n has a number in it ..i think tht’z for the expiry date of the product after it has been opened, some hav 12 written in there n sum 24, but tht only applies after its first been opened i think, i may be totally wrong (but this is what sumone else told me lol) :bummer: ..beauticianz can confirm if im right or wrong lol

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

vaise why does people even use foundation?.....focus on your skin instead....do the facials/masks to reduce the scars on your face and so on..and u wont need any foundation....:D

foundation looks fake na:(

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

^ not if its the right color AND if you blend it right... foundation gives a good smooth base to apply the rest of your makeup on :)

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

^true I love foundation and how it can really change the appearance of a woman's skin! Of course, you must make sure to properly moisturize and cleanse your skin and keep it dehydrated by drinking plenty of water. Foundation in itself is not adequate, make sure you take the proper steps ALONG with foundation to achieve that great look:)

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

I would recommend getting a primer also. I have one from Smashbox, it's awesome. It would really help specially for Pakistan in the summer.

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

vaise as i said before..is there nay foundation which doesnt melt in pakistan?..i need one:P

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

**I don’t understand the concept of foundation melting…please elaborate…

When ppl say make up melts of their face…I can only get a mental picture of
make-up dripping down the chin :O…

Such a case I’ve never seen :halo:
**

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

foundation fades away..slowly..leaving little spots of face with makeup and some spots with no makeup

Re: Make-Up (Buying essentials)

ohh ohkey...I guess that is what my cousin meant when she said he skin eats away her make-up :D
