During his times, Arab Culture was simple, easy to understand unlike today when it got so many layers. Layers of self interest.. layers of superiority. I don't know what happened to those Bedouin tribes, which represented pure Arab culture.

Yes, he wrote about his experiences with the Bedouin tribes. I believe he also spent a bit of time living among the tribes and fought alongside them during the Arab revolt against the Ottomans.

Isn't it interesting that now many Muslims in South Asia take sides of Arabs and claim Arab origins, but once they had sympathies with Ottoman empire, who had colonised these Arab countries. Even Gandhi ji supported this cause (support for Ottoman empire)

1- @aqua70 and other people told you that they have interacted with Arabs.

2- No one is angry at anyone here. And in case it has escaped you, go read the thread “Gaza Under Attack.” MANY, if not all, of the posters on there condemn Israel quite vocally for its barbarous actions. Where are you getting this idea that no one is angry about that?

3- So because people disagree with you they hate Arabs? Life is not black and white. Just because someone doesn’t agree with someone or something 100%, it doesn’t mean that they hate them.

4- Actually, I’ve spoken to quite a few people in Muslim countries and they agree with what most of what people have stated here, which is:

• Some of the wealthy Arab nations have a tendency to mistreat their foreign workers and allow the mistreatment to go unchecked.
• These nations often think rather highly of themselves, and tend view Muslims from other parts of the world, especially South Asia, as beneath them.
  I don’t understand where the hate is? Stating what you have personally observed is not hate.

Anyhow, you’ve clearly decided that you’re right and everyone else is wrong or doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Peace out.

1- Aqua did not said “he lived there”. He said he "interacted. Right ? There is diff between living somewhere and interaction. I have also interected Sudies, and i found them friendly. First u used the word “Several” then u said “aqua " and others”, can u mention "OTHERS’ names ?
2-it is not about hate or Love. Read all comments. I will nt repeat it again. People are showing their hate.
3- You did mention UK/US. When u said people condamned Israel.
4- I have also spoken to hundreds of People in Pakistan, Sudia and afganistan. And they they do not agree to what u are saying.

Really? That's quite interesting. How common was this sentiment on the subcontinent?

I had read about Gandhi's sympathy for the Ottomans. I wasn't aware the sentiment was widespread.

aur wo tabahi jo sectarianism ko support karne ki waja se aai hai? kitne Pakistani Muslamano ke gharon ke choolhe thande huwe hain iss aag se? uska hisaab kiya sirf America Bahadur aur Gori Malika se maanga jae?

I agree standard of living has improved due to jobs in Middle East, but again if law and order situation was better in our countries, hamari dal roti chal hi jati. After all, till 1960s (before oil exploration), we were much better than today. nahin?

1-Nobody told me, they are living in arab countries. And u used the word "Several People told me". Can You show me even a single Post where somebody told me what u just said ? 2- you guys are mad at arab countries that they are not Helping Poor Palestinians. What about UK/US/Israel who are directly involved in Massacre? Oh wait, You guys live in these countries, i can understand.. i got the point. 3- Read all comments from Post 1 to Last Post. You will come to know, People are showing their hate... I do not need to explain, everybody knows. 4-Majority of People agree to what i was saying, but Prob is, 80% People here are living in Western Countries, but if u talk to a Person in a street in any muslim state, He/She will not agree to what u guys said, eariler....

I can't speak for everyone else but I never stated that I hate Arabs. I dislike arrogant people, yes; but just because I met quite a few that think highly of themselves, it does not mean that I discriminate against the whole Arab world. Personally, I love Arabic and am interested in learning more about Arab culture. However that doesn't change the fact racism exists in that part of the world and is mostly directed toward Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, etc.

No idea! My dad probably thought that the movie must have been good. As a 4 or 5 yr old, I was simply a prisoner in the cinema hall for 4 hours!

Pakistani actor ‘Zia Mohyeddin’ also played a role of Arab guide in that movie.

I DIDN’T know there were women in the movie. Reason I bring that up - those days we boys enjoyed dishum dishum movies. So we were saying to each other - good movie. No women.
