Lost

Re: Lost

^^ MIB stated at the end of the last episode that he is going to destroy the Island. And we saw the Island submerged in water in opening episode.

Jacob told Whidmore to come back to the Island bringing Desmond back that he is a fail safe that will prevent MIB from escaping.

Did Jacob tell Whidmore to let Desmond sail across the world so that he can crash on the Island and be one of the candidates?

Re: Lost

i think in the end locke will die and island will be destroyed.

Re: Lost

alright... i need some time to figure out what the heck happened..
last ten minutes effed it up.

Re: Lost

It took me some time to think about it but I think I figured it out.

The parallel universe they were showing were the plane landed safely was 'heaven'. They characters created the life they wanted (i.e. Sawyer being a cop, Jack being a father) and lived that life until they were ready to figure out that they were actually dead.

Which means, life on the island was real.

Few questions though:

  1. Why did Desmond go down into the light and try to disable it????? Who told him to do that?

  2. I thought Whitmore's people rigged the plane with explosives???? So how were they able to get it off the ground and fly it??

Re: Lost

^ ^ I have more basic questions. what is that island, what was that light, who put that stone on top of the "light", what did it do, what were the inscriptions on the stone , who made all that.
also how come they all knew what were they supposed to do. they would look clueless all the time and when time came to do something, they said they knew what to do.
also they never told what happened to smokey and jacob. if the plane landed somewhere, or if jack became smokey.
also the island was a material thing, it is evident because humans used to make frequent trips to it. dharma did it, widmore did it , so is that rescue crew etc..

Re: Lost

its here its here :e6:
i m downloading it ATM, can’t wait

its around 1.4 gb so i m gonna have to wait like 3-4 hours :S

Lemme try to answer:

1 - Desmond was told by Jack to head towards the area with the brightest light. He did and it was his own instinct to move the stone.

2 - Whitmore's people did rig the plane with explosives but MIB went in and disabled the explosives and put it in Jack's pack back which blew up in the Submarine.

Lemme try to answer:

1 - what is that island ? - Its a special place on earth which has magical properties. It moves throughout the earth. In 23 AD it was in the Mediterranean Sea where the Roman Ship carrying the mother of Jacob and MIB crashed. It then moved into the Pacific and then into the Atlantic where the Nigerian Smugglers crashed onto the Island and now currently somewhere in the Pacific when Oceanic 815 crashed.

2 - what was that light? - The heart of the Island...its basically a MacGuffin.

3 - who put that stone on top of the "light"? - The ancient inhabitants of the Island who then passed on the knowledge to guard the Island to Mother and who then passed on the knowledge to Jacob and then to Jack and then to Hurley.

4 - what did it do? stone basically kept the Island alive....if the stone is removed the island will be destroyed.

5 - what were the inscriptions on the stone? - some ancient texts similar to egyptian heiroglyphics....

6 - who made all that? - some ancient civilization...since the island moves...it could have been settled by some ancient civilization like egyptians or greeks....

7 - how come they all knew what were they supposed to do? - as soon as they drink the water....the knowledge of what to do gets transferred

8 - they never told what happened to smokey and jacob? - MIB was thrown into the stream which carried him into the light...the strong electromagnetic energy transformed him into the Smoke Monster. Desmond survived because he can survive electro magnetism as Whidmore's test showed. Jacob is dead as he was killed by his #2, Ben, who was tricked into doing so by MIB after he came to him in a vision as his dead daughter, Alex. Jacob came to the rest in spirit telling them what to do.

9 - if the plane landed somewhere, or if jack became smokey? - The plane landed....what happened to the crew, thats up to our imagination. Jack didn't become smokey as he died in the closing shot.

10 - also the island was a material thing, it is evident because humans used to make frequent trips to it. dharma did it, widmore did it , so is that rescue crew etc..? - the Island has special properties and people travelled on and off the island using a teleportation device which transferred Ben into Tunisia.

Dharma was there for scientific research until Ben defected and attacked and destroyed Dharma and became the Other's (Jacob's followers) leader and second only to Jacob.

Whidmore was a candidate to replace Jacob but was not upto the task and thus was send off the island. He was brought back as Jacob asked him to bring Desmond to stop MIB from escaping.

Any more questions.....lemme know :)

More a statement, what a powerful ending, alongside life on mars and Battlestar Galactica, easily one of the most enigmatic endings of modern TV

Time to let go people..rest in peace LOST

Re: Lost

What the Fudge? From the last 6 episodes I had the feeling that they just didn't care about the show anymore and the ending kind of proved my point. It's like they wrote it in 10 minutes or something.

Battlestar Galactica is without question the greatest show in the history of Television.

Lost is right up there.

Eh?

Did you guys ever watch the Sopranos or the Wire?

yeah seen both....both amazing shows...

right now i am watching Spartacus, Breaking Bad, Entourage and Mad Men

Re: Lost

:(

Re: Lost

wire and sopranos are awesome :k:

i liked the ending of lost, it was a decent end :k:

a very awesome show while it lasted

breaking bad is awesome and so is entourage

haven't seen mad men and spartacus
though i've heard good things about both.

Re: Lost

okay a question that bothered me is..
that at the end everyone is dead and ready to move on... hurley's suppose to be the new jacob how come he died? and i suppose ben not leaving means he's still in charge of the island
so that makes him the new jacob?

Hurley probably gave up the job as protector of the Island either to Ben or to someone else. He did say it was temporary.

So Lost people's souls remained in limbo until everyone gathered at the church when they could finally pass into the afterlife.

Although I am confused as Jack was the last to arrive but Kate, Hurley, Sawyer and Claire all died after Jack. I guess it was just the editing of the episode to end the show with Jack's eye closing.

two possible answers they sorta answered that by showing as true to form Jack was the most resistant to accepting the memories of what had happened and that he had passed on..so he realised last ..other possibility that time didn't mean anything so who found out first and last didn't mean anything either..

Ps I wish theyd brought back Eko

Re: Lost

I liked it. They could have done a better job but I think the writers felt that they gave a lot of closure to the characters.

Why was the Jack the last person to come into the church was not because he died last - I thought it was because he always had a hard time accepting the truth. He ever fought the flash backs, first one with Locke in the hospital, 2nd one with Kate. He was the last one to LET GO.

But it was sad. I am moving on the MAD MEN.

I missed Eko character too but I think the actor refused to do the finale.
