Nikki and Paulo were not the main characters. Eko didnt want to come back to the show. He hated living in Hawaii...not sure about the Stewardess....she wasnt the main character anyways....

Iliana was send by Jacob to bring Sayid back while Ben brought the rest because they left prematurely before they could complete their mission. Iliana also brought back Locke's body to show Ben that he was taking orders from MIB impersonating as Locke.

I watched it, all so sad. my feeling was that the show ended where it all began...with jacks eye opening in the first episode and closing in the last....so it had either already happened....so everything we saw was retrospective..or that it happened but the characters were already dead from episode 1 and were not actually survivors at all...the plane crashed, they died....
that was a nice touch with closing on jack watching the plane fly by and his eyes closing in that same bamboo field his eyes opened in the first episode.

well their initial plan was for jack to die in the opening and turn Kate into the main character on the show...but ABC was adamant that Jack live and so they turned Jack into the main character but they also said that Jack will die in the end...and thats what happened....

Im also still wondering what happend to Walt.. I know he and Michael left the island somewhere in the beginning (season 2?).. And when Locke was sent to get the others back to the island he also went to see Walt at his school.. He didnt have to bring him back.. What happend to him now? I mean.. They all actually died.. I know Michael died on the boat (season 4?) Was Walt just living the real life then when all the others died?

They can easily get off the Island. Jacob used to leave the Island to recruit potential candidates to replace him.

another confusion, the “nameless” Jacob’s brother is dead but what happened to the smoke monster, “nameless” person became mortal and then Jack killed him but what about that smoke thing? did it die too with him?
technically when jacob threw his brother in the light he died and the MIB (smoke monster) was born but used jacob's brothers body like later he used john locke's body.
so when desmond removed the stone, the island lost its power and hence the MIB lost his immortality and smoke thingy. For whatever reason this was necessary for him to leave the island.
So yeah he died when jack killed him cuz he was mortal at that time.
Just finished watching all 6 seasons of Lost. Brilliant character development. Almost all the characters were fantastic, but my personal favorite was Ben the wacky bas*rd :D (Michael Emerson deserves a second emmy). *
