lost baby weight!

Re: lost baby weight!

I feel that once you have lost the weight you can keep it up with healthy eating.By all means dont keep a strict points system in your diet but be conscious of what you are putting in your mouth if you are satisfied dont reach for that extra piece of roti, if you are having a sugar rush, eat fruit or if that doesnt cut it for you, go ahead and have a cookie or two but dont get carried away. Eat a slice of cake, that never killed anyone!drink lots of water to keep you full and hydrated. Try to get active, if nothng else then scrub the floors or change the bed sheets(usually gets me sweating...i know im so unfit!!) and DONT DEPRIVE YOUSELF! thats where it all goes wrong, thats when peopl lose control, get fed up, tired and just completley give up and end up binging until they are back to step one. SO have a day where you pig out, eat what you want but just be careful about what you eat the next couple of day after that. Sometimes we cant help it, we have family occasions, weddings, birthdays, lots of days in a row where we eat ALOT! go ahead enjoy. just get yourself back on track as soon as those days are over, eat very healthy, excercise or maybe follow the points system for week or two..remembr its easy to lose a couple of points than 10 0r 15! this is how i have maintained my weight in the past without depriving myself, some may not agree with me but hey, it works for me!

Re: lost baby weight!

sounds interesting. So I guess to find out how many points you are allowed to consume you have to join the program or is there any other way?
all desi foods seem so high on the point scale :(

Re: lost baby weight!

^^ thats what I felt too
like you could a truck load of grilled meats and veggies but when it came to our food - you had to live off of tandoory chicken and lentil (if made without the tarka)

Re: lost baby weight!

sadia i have lost weight but also my breast size reduced due to breastfeeding my baby and area around my breast nipple become dark

Re: lost baby weight!

^ huma, so u lost while breastfeeding?

well as for breast size reducing, well it happens after weaning.

seashell, true); ur posts makes sense. I love sandwishes too, but hubby like to eat desi food, so I dont cook two different foods for the day.

I am losing the extra fat! :-)) thanks for the motivation.

So can u give us a list of healthy food ithems like which cheese ect.. and their points as u can enter their site, so it would be great if u can give us more food and their points, this makes more sense as calories!

Thanks again

thanx alot

Re: lost baby weight!

-So basically it’s eat whatever you want as long as ur within points?
-Does everyone have a different “point” limit? LIke i’m allowed 20 pts a day but someone else needs only 15? (or watever)…
-seashell, it wud be awesome if there were a list of desi foods :hayaa:

Re: lost baby weight!

Sara's on point with eat whatever you like as long as its within your points limit. If you weigh less than 150 pounds then you stick to 25 points daily, there's nothing less than that!(thank god!). The points allowed go higher if you are heavier than 150 pounds.
Im not an excercise person at all so my excercise routine was pretty basic,a 20 min walk 3 times a week. Im also big around the hips and thighs area esp my arse!! so i sometimes do some toning excercises which i took from the net but def nothing on a regular basis which is why im so proud of myself at losing the weight so quickly. im looking into pilates or yoga now just to tone myself up since the majority of the fat is gone! infact do you guys have any suggestions? what type of excercise would be best for toning up those jiggly thighs and hips without doing the heart pumping stuff because that i just cant do!

oh how could i forget to mention the excercise also earns you points, so the more you excercise the more points you can earn amd the more you can eat. i could tell you that in a little more detail if anyones intrested!

Re: lost baby weight!

^ Hmm i'd like to sign up for it..but freakin heck, its 50 smoething a month :(

Re: lost baby weight!

but thats the beauty of it- now that you have all this info, you don't need to pay $50 a month. just follow the points on your own- apply it to whatever you eat, eat accordingly, and work out. check out bookstores- im sure theres a ton of books out there outlining the plan from a to z.

Re: lost baby weight!

can u tell us abt the excercise thing....if i work out for about 45 mins....about 2.5 to 3 miles....how many points should i use...

Re: lost baby weight!

A book? :ahaa: Why didnt i think of htat :lifey:

Re: lost baby weight!

oh seashell do tell us about exercise...would love to know what gets you points..as i'm going to start exercising soon.

Mostly tread mill and also some pilates/tummy toning stuf.

Re: lost baby weight!

^ I hate the treadmill. I've found doing 30 minutes on the elliptical burns more calories than the treadmill, at least for me. With treadmill I guess it's because it's going at one speed, unless I change it, whereas elliptical, it changes up alot, I dunno..

Re: lost baby weight!

thank you sooooo much seashell!!!
friend infact am very confused person coz whenever i do any excercise or goes on diet everyone says me no no never do it its harmful, never do excercise when u’ll leave it u’ll again gain double weight. thats why am fed up and confused that what shuold i do after all to lose my weight.

can u tell me the excercises u did sometimes for tonning, well i alsoo have som kinda stretchings which i’ll post on finding in my cds( searched on internet aswell). i dint do that but am thinking to do that as am sure that they will have a nice impact. once i did that and i got very relaxation.

n yupppp seashellll definitely i neeeddd everything about losing weight… please shareee themmm. n if possible for u than please tell me da chart that how many points are allowed to how much weight and also the mc.donalds and its deals points.

sooo nice of uuuu:blush:

Re: lost baby weight!

yes! elipticals are way better than treadmills! plus i hate the fact that i'm walking nowhere! in the summertime, i walk up and down queen street- might as well windowshop while i'm getting exercise :)

Re: lost baby weight!

hmmm elipticall??? sorry am not getting wats this?

Re: lost baby weight!

HEY ALL!

something just occured to me which i thought id clear out first, i should have mentioned this before but totally forgot so sorry about that guys and here goes..

the total amount of points that you are allowed a day if you weigh up to 150 pounds is actually 20 points, HOWEVER before you all start cursing me out(HEHE!) you get an extra 35 points a week so i added 5 points on to every day to make it 25 points a day because 20 was pushing it a little bit!! it seemed a little low. It works out the same its up to you how you use the points. Say you have an event coming up where you know you gonna eat. In that case you can just eat 20 points a day and on the day of the event use your regular 20 plus the 35! that way you can enjoy yourself, eat well and still stay within your points range! but REMEMBER NO CARRYING POINTS OVER TO THE NEXT WEEK! new week, new points, and try not to weigh yourself after the day you have an event and have used up a lot of your points because sometimes water retention can make it seem like you have gained, and thats not so good!

Re: lost baby weight!

Figuring your Activity Points!

Okay this is NOT complicated just seems it!
There are 3 formulas for figuring out your activity points that can be earned throgh excercise. You choose the intensity that you did. Then Multiply your weight by your total minutes of cardio and then multiply it by your Intensity factor (the number with the decimal) to get your Activity Points also know as...(APs)

example: 215 lbs x 30 minutes lite cardiox .000232 = 1.5 APs

Light Intensity Activity:
(you can sing and talk)
Your Weight x Minutes x .000232 = Activity Points

Moderate Intensity Activity:
(You can talk but not sing)
Your Weight x Minutes x .000327 = Activity Points

Heavy Intensity Activity:
(You need deep breaths to talk)
Your Weight x Minutes x .0008077 = Activity Points

so basically you have to work your butt off to get the points! hey no one said it was easy!!!
