Hi everyone, im over the moon today so i thought id share my happiness with everyone.I have officially lost the extra 20 pounds of weight i gained after having my baby girl. Mashallah she is 5 months old now and i am back to my original weight of 106. I piled on the pounds and went from 106 pounds to 144 pounds and believe me on a 5ft frame thats A LOT!anyway after i had her some of the weight came of by itself but i was stuck on 126, so about 2 months after my delivery i went on the weight watchers plan and lost all the weight in about 3 months.
If anyone else wants to do the same but doest want to join ww i can give you some idea about how it works and give you a few tips…just let me know!

Re: lost baby weight!
Weight watchers works with points, each food/ meal has points(which can be worked out)According to my weight i was allowed to have 25 points a day. Anyone 150 pounds or less works with 25 points. you can eat anything you want as long as you are in your point range. for instance a medium apple is 1 point, slice of cheese is 2 points etc but what really helped me was the following formula
NUMBER OF CALORIES: _ /50
NUMBER OF TOTAL FAT GRAMS: _ /12
NUMBER OF DIETARY FIBER GRAMS:_ /5
after you have worked out that, its numb of calories + number of total fat- number of dietary fiber=points!
I know it seems kind of complicated but its not...just have a calc handy...here is an example:
say you have something that has 130 calories, 130/50=2.6
number of total grams of fat is 5 so, 5/12=0.4
dietary fiber grams is1 so, 1/5=0.2
now 2.6+0.4-0.2=2.8 therefore that rounds of to 3 points!!
with this formula i could calculate the points value of EVERYTHING so i knew exactly what i was consuming, could eat stuff i liked and still stay on the plan. Just now i had 3 frero rocher's...he he! thats 5 points!! i know thats alot but right now i preffered that over cereal or something healthy, i was craving for it and i feel by eating a small amount of what i like i dont deprive myself therefore its easier to stick to the plan.
hope it helps!
Re: lost baby weight!
Oh and a little bit of excercise too..i walked atleast 20 mins 3 times a week.
Re: lost baby weight!
thanks for that explanation and formula, seashell! i've been trying to figure out WW for a while now and it seemed super complicated and you made it so simple! yay! i'm on the slimfast thing right now- i find it really focuses my eating on smaller portion sizes and also on healthier foods... plus their powder shakes are yum, especially when you add fresh berries to them. mmm.... i lost 6 lbs in a month on that, and im hoping to reach my target weight of 120 by may 1st so i can try on my wedding dress and not cry. haha :P
Re: lost baby weight!

Re: lost baby weight!

Re: lost baby weight!
so how much point is a simple roti?
well it does make sense now.
can u pls tell me their website?
Re: lost baby weight!
Chapati/Roti, 7" diameter piece (baked whole wheat bread)
(60 cal/<1 g fat/11 g carbs) 1.5 points
Re: lost baby weight!
Re: lost baby weight!
do u pay for it or is it free? My friend was on it 3 years back and she said it worked fine.
Re: lost baby weight!
i think once you figure out the points system, you just eat whatever you want to, so long as your within the points. they have their own brand of foods and you can attend group sessions with other people doing WW so you have support, but thats just a waste of $$, especially now with this handy little formula seashell shared.
Re: lost baby weight!
Yeh it does work - its very slow weight loss but good weight loss that doesnt come back.
Re: lost baby weight!
seashells are you breastfeeding? i'm stuck with the last 15 on my 5ft 7 frame b/c i was told not to diet while breast feeding.
Also your point explanation is great but how did you deal with desi food you cooked at home? Just guesstimate?
Re: lost baby weight!
amelie, if u are breastfeeding u can't go on diet, but u can eat healthy!
As I was breastfeeding, I could eat anything and I didnt gain weight, just 2 weeks ago I stopped breastfeeding and promptly I gained whole 2 kilos.
Now I want to lose about 10 kilos.
This weightwatchers program looks good.
I started yesterday eating healthy and now no more sweets and chocolate wagaira!
I am just wondering if u have to pay for the online programe?
And how to deal with desi home cooked food?
Re: lost baby weight!
Well done on ur weight loss!
My best friend lost 13 pounds in 5 weeks doing weight watchers. Shes got a very fast metabolism and lives and breathes the gym like me. Shes got a little boy so shes had a baby as well. Howeva when she left the programme and tried doing healthy eating on her own within the 5 weeks she lost that weight, she gained it straight back. Then she went back on it and lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. I hear all abt her yo yo dieting from her and i actually say to her im sorry but as fitness instructor i can truly say that is not a healthy way to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF. ITs good as a quick fix like say if ur going on holiday or something but not for the long term. When i had my daughter i gained a huge amount but i had a very big baby for my height and frame. Howeva i lost it all over a year very steadily and now im a fitness instructor and teach classes. I neva gained the weight back either. I neva followed any diets cos for me personally as soon as i leave it, i gain the weight straight back. I actually ate the correct foods to make sure i was getting the most out of high intensity training. but i also know most ppl dont do the amount of exercise and training that i do cos i am a fitness instructor. When i hear abt it from my best friend and see her weight yo yo-ing i really have my doubts abt weight watchers.
