yes, it wasn’t the first time he ‘helped’ the players.
Here is another one of the professional journalist’s escapades…makes it all believable.

So what was the "help" about?

Sorry, what does this have to do with issue at hand? Was this video fake or did the duchess deny any such 'deal' etc?
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
Asif's father's video is heartbreaking.

You have to know the credibility of the source you are getting the information from. The point of the videos is to establish who the journalist is and what he has done in the past..hence the relevance.
The video is not fake and dutches did not deny it. i'm sorry,, i will spell it out better next time.
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
wah salman butt wah....namazz, sajday, rozay…all that and then match fixing...
now this is a classical problem with out society…..we do not do any character building in our society…. what is right and what is wrong is taught to us from a very young age purely based upon religious teachings, fear of god and more importantly “qabar ka azab....
jhoot mat bolo becaue allah mian naraz ho jayee gain….kissi ka haq na maaro, because allah mian nay manna kiya ha quran may…..sex mat karo shaddi say pehlay because qbar ka azab ayae ga…..well that kid has not seen allah mian….he has not seen qabar….HE DOES NOT GET IT….He just gets scared and promises not to do it……..problem is that the human brain finally starts finding ways to get around it…..and those ways are also provided by maulvis…if you perform hajj, all of your sins will be forgiven….if you pray xyz 120 times, you will be free of sins..….if you say this soorah 500 times and pass it on to 100 people, you will be forgiven for your sins and the list simply goes on….blah blah…
but in western or many other societies, character building is achieved in a systematic way by making kids realize from very young age why certain things are wrong in a civilized society…..it just becomes part of their character…
Re: Lord’s Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
oh really? I wonder why crime rate in western country is so high specially moral crimes when they are raised in such a systematic way? I just wonder why people go to jail due to fraud in western countries
… just wondering …
Just take off cops from highway and you will see how many will break the law … i bet more than 90% will. If they are so “systematically” raised and know good and bad, why will they break the law once they know POLICE is not there to apprehend them…
Stop bashing religion for every migraine you get. good personalities (and great systems) are always raised/built with the concept of check-and-balance. Be it the KHOOF of Allah or be it the KHOOF of Police on the road.
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
@ PD
Let's not paint everyone with the same brush. Many Pakistani parents (religious or not) do a great job of bringing up their children the right way, teaching them good manners from the outset
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
i knew this is coming....no society is perfect decent chora, but in general people in western societies tend to adhere to basic fundamentals (again emphasis is on basic fundamentals such as hard work, dont cheat, dont lie, be respectful to others view point etc) more closely than in our country and there has to be reason for it...right? i was trying to comment on that aspect....

I agree with you that. I my self appreciate many aspects of western society but whatever we are lacking in our society is because we are unable to actually execute whatever plan we have. Not that plan is wrong. Anyways, lets get back to cricket ... :(

yep lets get back to cricket...but one last comment....if a plan is not working for so long, may be it is time to think out of box.....keep reiterating that "plan is there but we dont execute" is no more an applicable excuse for this upcoming generation (and i am not part of it..i am in 30s) who is being raised in such a global environment....this generation will ask questions about the validity of the "plan"....if the "plan" is 100% workable, easy to implement and practical, it will work.....otherwise it wont....so dont just blame the people.....think about the "plan" as well....we muslims freezed the door of "ijtahad" and "ijmah" 600 years ago and things have been stagnant since then......anyway it is getting too dense....so i will stop there.
Re: Lord’s Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
talking about videos, I am surprised no one has discussed this video at least in this thread
According to NOTW, Mazhar put the money in his jacket, left the car and then later gave the jackat to Wahab Riaz
Most of you have heard people asking how come Mazhar Majeed is wearing a black shirt when giving jacket to Wahab, but was wearing a bluish green shirt inside the car..
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
How come Muhammad Amir bowled that no-ball even when he knew he was overstepping by such a large margin?
Isn't that more important than a change of shirt from dear Mazhar?
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY

What does that mean? Sorry I didn't understand your point.
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
Amir is an international cricketer who has hardly bowled a no-ball in his (short) career. If a bowler knows he is overstepping but a couple of inches, he would normally pull out of the delivery. This one was HUGE.
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
yaar kakaballi jee....hamara IQ kaffi low ha....app kee baat samagh may nehiee atiee....
Re: Lord's Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
yaar khan sahib, it is a valid point but i think these may very well be irrelevant details....NOTW never said that he stepped out of the car and immediately went to the club to talk to wahab and co....he may have gone to home, changed the shirt and came back to the club....who knows..or it could very well be that he introduced NOTW to wahab and co right away after stepping from the car but it is hard to tell the color of the shirt once he stepped out because the quality of video is not that good (at least the one i have seen so far)...
my point being, i don’t care whether the jacket had the money or not….don’t care whether it is the same jacket or not…..carless whether it is the same shirt or not….these are circumstantial evidences one need to collect to prosecute players criminally under a certain jurisprudence….and it is really hard to obtain them..that is why Scotland yard, as I see it, will be unable to prosecute our players...and dont get me wrong, these are very important details that we need to ensure whether the case is fake or not...
but what we do know for sure without any doubt that mazhar is talking to wahab and amin in a very friendly manner and that he is an extremely shady character....so why is he so friendly with our players? what is he doing with our players in a latenite hangout party....and he has been hanging out with our team for last 5 years...... these questions need explanation.....and should we let players go because we could not find enough circumstantial evidence against them? may be if it was the first case of match fixing of its own kind in cricket, we could have let everything go away once scotland yard says so...but there is a lot of mess....that is why we need an international tribunal to investigate issues and ask right questions…they need to interview a lot more people...many more players...many more characters...what was this guy doing with our players...for how long was he associated with them and in what capacity?….show us proof that he was a marketing agent? Who else is involved with this guy named mazhar? And many other questions that would shed light on behavioral aspect of our players…if outcome is too shady then tribunal should recommend banning these players…

Still that doesn't mean he is guilty. My point about mazhar shirt in that video is that there any enough doubts in these videos for anyone to use them as an evidence. Just like the initial video where Mazhar talks to the reporter and gives him the detail about no balls. There is no way anyone can tell when these videos were made. They could very be after the day was over.

My point with the video was that it would be a mistake for people and especially ICC to make judgement based only on these videos which I think they are doing right now.
Anyway I agree with what you said above. The case needs to be investigated in a thorough manner. But what I found disturbing in this enitre episode is the general public reaction.
We have got absolutely no trust in our own people so much so that even if a tabliod can fabricate a story we are ready to believe it. Instead of innocent until proven guilty we go by guilty until proven innocent theory. And I understand why most of us are doing this. This mentality has slowly creeped into our minds and our society becaue we have seen so much corruption with absolutely zero accountability. We are willing to take decisions into our own hands. We dont believe in due process. At smaller level, we start labelling people *choor, uchaka *as soon as we hear a story without trying to do any research. At bigger and much violent level, we can even kill innocent people just like what happened in Sialkot.
Don't get me wrong here. If these 3 are guilty, I want nothing less than a life ban along with a jail sentence in Pakistan for them on treason charges. But what if they are not guilty? Shouldn't we give them a chance to clear themselves?
Re: Lord’s Scandal: Spot-fixing, VIDEOS ONLY
frankly if you watch this video, it does not look too good for Butt, Asif and Aamer. Does n’t matter if Scotland Yard did not press criminal charges against the three players, the ICC believe they have violated article 2 of their code of conduct in this particular instance and players have been charged as such but they do not want to say too much in public at this stage. And while Sydney test was a dysfunctional game, the ICC won’t press further charges because they have no evidence that any wrongdoing that occurred was for financial gain
