Education and upbringing (not every parent does it well) have a lot to do with this
Mohammad Asif’s Father

As much as I feel sorry for Asif’s father, after watching this video I am not surprised why Asif and others behave the way they do…ab iss becharey ney kya upbringing kee hogee apney bachon kee!!!

Many of great people of our earlier generation were brought up in similar villages to illiterate parents, it did not stop them from becoming honest professionals. This is hardly an excuse.
Wow I can't believe that some of the jokers on this site are blaming his father's training for Asif's crime. Asif is not 10 years old.
parental upbringing most definitely influences personality development... the way we all behave and view the world etc. That being said the principal blame lies with Asif because he is not a doodh peeta bacha any more

Makes sense. Sorry I took your earlier post the wrong way. I edited my earlier post as well
Yaaara GA, his father’s language, his father’s way of speaking is very normal for that part of Pak where he is from. I dont think up brining is any of problem…I am sure my parents or elders would swear ( almost ) exactly the same way for my innocence…if they find out about half of the stuff that I have done behind their backs all my life… (And believe me…there is stuff that I dont want no one finding out…lol)…thats just how parents are!
Well I met Imran Khan at a garden party in 1990 and he was only singing praises of Saeed Anwar, that what a naturally gifted opener Saeed was, one of the best timers he had ever seen... I think truth is somewhere in between. Maybe Saeed was out of form as well.
And to be fair to IK, Shoaib Mohammad was an average player. His father Hanif Mohammad was a genius but Shoaib was nothing special (yes I know he had 7 test hundreds) and with the likes of Mohsin Khan and Mudassar Nazar (both better than Shoaib IMO) around, Shoaib was always going to struggle to get into the side as an opener
We should make this a separate thread as this discussion does not have anything to do with the spot fixing videos...
Imran may have sung verbal praise of Saeed Anwar but the facts of records show things differently. Imran had branded Anwar a one-day player only, not suitable for tests. That is why Saeed played only one test until 1994 when Imran was gone completely. That one test was against the mighty West Indies (at the time) where Saeed was made to open against the likes of Bishop, Ambrose and Marshall despite him being a middle order batsman (yes, Saeed Anwar was a middle order batsman that was forced to open to get into Pakistan team). Imran preferred the great batsmen like Aamer Malik, Ramiz Raja, Zahid Fazal, Saleem Malik, Mansoor Akhtar and Ijaz Ahmad over Saeed Anwar during the period 1989-1992. Even in one-days these batsmen were preferred over Saeed Anwar, specially when playing at home.
As far as Shoaib Mohammad is concerned, he may be average when compared to Miandad and Richards but within Pakistan team his record is second only to Miandad during his time and the best among all openers at the time. Just take a look at the test records of first choice openers/one down player of Imran Khan (Ramiz Raja and Aamer Malik, Mansoor Akhtar and Zahid Fazal) and Shoaib and it will be clear that Shoaib was head and shoulder better player than these gentlemen. Add in the fact that he was a superb fielder and a useful spinner to boot, the preference of mediocre players like Ramiz Raja over Shoaib is nonsensical. Shoaib did not play for some of the best years of his cricketing career when he scored tonnes of runs in first class but remained out of Pakistan team due to personal preferences and politics of Pakistan cricket.
A couple of other cricketers that suffered Imran's whimsical choices were Saleem Jaffar and Iqbal Qasim.
Ramiz wasnt great but was not bad either. Ijaz Ahmed was very poorly utilized by Imran, he was the best to come up the order in Australia but Imran always sent him number 6,7 or even 8. Zahid Fazal as i remember was one down, never played as opener.
Well I w’d say that on the whole Mazhar is doing a good job despite his questionable methods of setting vulnerable people up and tricking them into doing things that they ‘probably’ would not otherwise have done. He is removing unwanted elements from the society. The principal fault still lies with those people who fall into his trap. As they say if you are good then everyone around you is good
And Kapil Dev said here: ‘duniya mein aapko ghalat log humesha miltey rahein gey, lekin agar aapka zameer saaf ho, agar aapka jazba zinda ho, to aap ghalat kaam kabhi nahin karein gey …agar aap apney des se ghuddari kar saktey hein to aap kissi se bhi ghuddari kar saktey hein’
