but what we do know for sure without any doubt that mazhar is talking to wahab and amin in a very friendly manner and that he is an extremely shady character....so why is he so friendly with our players? what is he doing with our players in a latenite hangout party....and he has been hanging out with our team for last 5 years...... these questions need explanation.....and should we let players go because we could not find enough circumstantial evidence against them? may be if it was the first case of match fixing of its own kind in cricket, we could have let everything go away once scotland yard says so...but there is a lot of mess....that is why we need an international tribunal to investigate issues and ask right questions…they need to interview a lot more people...many more players...many more characters...what was this guy doing with our players...for how long was he associated with them and in what capacity?….show us proof that he was a marketing agent? Who else is involved with this guy named mazhar? And many other questions that would shed light on behavioral aspect of our players…if outcome is too shady then tribunal should recommend banning these players…
You already know by now that Mazhar was friends with Butt as well as agent for couple of players. Case is already beyond Scotland Yard, even ICC can't charge these players based on "marked notes" because the guy is 'agent' and as I read the expected response from players is 'cash is from our agent for sponsorship'. PCB knows all this and still says that all this is a "setup" should tell you that these player WILL NOT be charged by PCB even if they see the 'marked notes'.
Anyway I agree with what you said above. The case needs to be investigated in a thorough manner. But what I found disturbing in this enitre episode is the general public reaction.
We have got absolutely no trust in our own people so much so that even if a tabliod can fabricate a story we are ready to believe it. Instead of innocent until proven guilty we go by guilty until proven innocent theory. And I understand why most of us are doing this. This mentality has slowly creeped into our minds and our society becaue we have seen so much corruption with absolutely zero accountability.
Why should we trust these players knowing what our team has gone through in past couple of months i.e. coups against captain, stealing defeat from jaws of victory, letting late wicket partnerships prosper etc. Besides we already have been through this corruption scandal once and some of shady characters from that past are around the team.
What the hell is Flanagan talking about Australian tour??? The questioned was asked about Sydeny Test and Flanagan replied yes there was a game where events occured against the spirit of the game. Is he confusing sydney test with the last final ODI when Afridi bit the ball??? Regardless of all the fictional stories, no one has any evidence to conclude anything about Sydeny test. Very typical of ASCU when they have absolutely no idea what they are doing…

I knew that was coming and I am glad you said that. Yes we cannot trust these players but does that mean that we should stop following the needed protocol and start treating them as *Choor uchakas *whenever we hear a story?? Because if we will start doining that, pretty soon there will be no difference between us and Sarfaraz Nawaz.

We should have protocol but that should've been enforced by PCB earlier by keeping Mazhar Majeed far away from the team. There is no need for "agent" to be with the players all night long. We failed to observe the protocol to begin with.

I totally agree with that. It was another example of PCB's failed administration and management which gave their players liberty to stay in contact with mazha when told not to do so.
But when I said needed protocol in my post, I meant thorough investigation on behalf of Police, ICC, PCB etc.

It wasn't just Pakistanis who almost had a verdict from the video, almost everyone who saw the video said they were guilty.
Yasir Hameed is quoted in the News Of The World as saying that unnamed players were regularly cheating. “It makes me angry because I’m playing my best and they are trying to lose.”
The paper also says a fourth player is now being investigated in the spot-betting row that has shaken the sport.
Hameed could also be in trouble with the ICC since he failed to inform ACSU when he was approached by a bookie and allegedly offered £100,000 to fix a test match
Kamran Akmal's keeping was definitely 'against the spirit of the game'
C'mon GA, we all hate him a lot but do you seriously think that he dropped those catches intentionally? First of all he is not capable of doing that. Secondly just for the sake of arguement, lets say he did that then it will actually be a case of breaking cricket's law. Spirit of the game applies in cases like R@ndiv when he didn't let Shewag finish his century by bowling no ball.
I think there is a difference between violating spiring of the game and breaking the law. Haven't you heard people saying that cricket should be played in accordance with its traditional 'spirit', as well as within its laws.
In my opinion Flanagan had absolutely no idea what he was talking about.
GA, this is called sensationalizing a non-issue. Give me few days and I will compile more than 100 similar videos of non-pakistani players messing up simple dismissals just like Akmal did.
When media does it we call them irresponsible for unneccasarily provoking the public but for some reason we can do that. Anyway you are entitled to your opinion.
And among the mayhem it is nice to know that there is atleast one institution in Pakistan - THE MOTORWAY POLICE - that is not corrupt (@ 28:50) and I have heard this not just from Haroon Akhtar but many others in Pakistan.

Would those 'messing up' be accompanied with similar number of dropped catches? :)

I would certainly look forward to seeing any wicketkeeper missing a run out the way Kamran Akmal did. I certainly have seen a lot of missed catches but never seen anyone not taking off bails when the runner is way behind the line.
