After marriage, he tried to alter my entire character. I wasn’t allowed to laugh much anymore, I wasn’t allowed to make many jokes anymore, I wasn’t allowed to talk to other people anymore, except just a few female family members and one or two female friends, I wasn’t allowed to read much anymore, etc. .

He sounds like a real catch. So what did u marry him for? Surely, not personality. Unless…his toxic traits were not apparent to you before marriage.
