People should only engage in 'innovatory' practicies if the merits outweigh the fitaan. Not being a scholar I cannot deny the female Maazun, but it is another chip away from the wall of tradition to practice this. It is not about reason nor is it about male domination ... some people find it a convenient bash on Muslims who simply want to follow the prophet Muhammad's (SAW) actual example in life.
Lastly, it gives no man a greater rank to be a reader of nikkah nor does it the merit the woman to follow this example or attempt to equate her life with one of a male counterpart. It is simply an action ... those who wish to do it thinking it liberation are already living with defeatist mindsets ...
