Have you ever been to Gadap or Malir rural area!
Not gadap, but malir yeah. For the greenery I am talking about, you need a temperate climate, not tropical. There is hardly any rainfall in that area, how can it be greener than places like Chak Shahzad?

Now the people are crazy to dine out! And thats pretty sad! Spending 500-1000 per person is simply a waste considering loads of hungry peopel out there. But the resturants business is thriving!

It can not be of that level. But thanks to the Malir River, there is plenty of tubewell water here and people grow loads of fruits and vegetables here. That includes kareala, loki, bhindi, tori, baigen, gawar, amrood, mater, cheeko, falsa, lasory and loads of tropical furits!

There are small dams in the area - on Malir River - Thaddo, Memon Goth and Jam Kunda. They are check dams, they hold water which increases underground level of water.

mostar, the green areas im referering to need no dams or irrigation, they are 'naturally' green :) This is why I said Karachi is like Jeddah.

Anyway, at that there was no biryani outlet in Pindi. My freind from Pindi was always fond of the biryani I used to cook there.
Haleem Ghar was always there, they had good biryani, but honestly they arent consistent, this one time they had the best biryani ever, and the next time it was really crappy. That is one thing restaurants in pakistan lack, consistency.

It will become even more greener, if they excute the plans of Khadeji and Mol Dams in the North-East of Karachi.

I think theres nothing wrong with it, provided its not too much. One of the few things the country right now offers is good food, and honestly thats the only thing I look forward to apart from visiting family when Im back. I know what you mean by ppl dying with hunger, but you have to realize that eating outside sometimes brings a nice change and you dont get sick of eating inside, and it adds a little ambiance and social outgoingness to your life.

I do not know about Jeddah but due to Hub and Malir Rivers rural areas of Karachi at least produces some fruits, vegetables and milk locally.

Before i gave a detailed overview of the 2 restaurants i mentioned but now i will just list my favorite places for eating out....i wont be giving details cuz i think they are already popular so no need for more info!!!
Hsin Yun- Chinese restaurant @ hussain chowk!?!
Nandos @ M.M Alam Road- but you better go there early as in before you are hungry cuz their wait will make you hungry by the time they bring the food.
Allah-Rakha @ Wadhat Road- for barbeque stuff!!! and their yummy mutton karahi and chomps :p
Sadiq's Kababs @ Model Town- lol the yummiest thing one can eat!!!! but they r kinda risky cuz its not very hygenic there so we try and avoid it but at times have to give in to the temptations :( lol.
Freddy's Cafe @ M.M Alam Road- I like only selective things from their menu...i.e fish n chips, their rice dish with cashew nuts, salad...
Has anyone tried Golden Wok? i didnt like it much and thought it was nt good use of money lol. I think i dont enjoy buffets much....they make you wanna eat all of the stuff and in real you end up eating nothing!!!.

What happened to cafe zouk? Is it still there? Have you tried china town lahore? i tried that back in 1997 it was great! the chinese food in pakistan actually tastes good!

Cafe aylanto- heard its v.experience but not as good as it luks from outside....
Little Italy- i just have to go there no matter wat cuz its by the same company as masooms cafe, which happens 2 be my fave!!!
Dish- its by yousaf salhi's son in partnership with somebody else...i dont know abt the food but i bet the atmosphere must be high class, lol!
Cucko's Cafe- its nt new but such a shame i havent yet gone there lol nobody is willing to take us since it borders with that mehala...lol! but i have been wanting to go there ever since i got to know its owner is an artist and has many paintings adorned on the cafe's decoration...n also he is an ex-student and teacher of our college so that makes it all the more special :biggthumb
