biggest (and cheapest) source of gelatin is from pork (pig skin), then there are skin and bone of other animals (even if its cow, if its not slaughtered seismically its not halal). fish is safest.
then there are some other synthetic and non-animal sources, but they are expensive.
some products/ sweets which use gelatin substitutes mention it on wrapper mostly.
