officially yes, it wasn’t forced but in practice it was…all the govt. employees were required to bring in nas-bandii cases or their salary was with-held, people found traveling without a ticket/proper ticket on Indian Railways were subjected to nas-bandii and also the criminals.

Recently it happened with Lays Chips rumors were that they used haram oil = Pork fat …
God knows it was a truth or not but Lays Company get effected a good deal that they started showing the plants in advertisements and started tagging “Halal” on chips bags.
Once i heard that coca cola amd pepsi are too made from Haram things.

They hired Junaid Jamshed to announce its being Halal 
I heard that there are some products of Walls (ice cream) which have non-halal components and they have declared those products in their brochures.
And they say there is plastic in kurkure if you heat it on a flame you can see it melting though i never tried.
