I am not wearing lip stick but I love applying lip balms on my lips because it looks natural. Lip balm moisturizes my lip and it helps me to have smooth and soft skin. I am also using a natural lip balm and oil to prevent dry and chapped lip.

Pretty dirt cheap for 2 dollars. How drying are they? I usually put chapstick on, then put the lip color on over it.

Surprisingly less drying than some of the pricier, matte lipsticks of higher-end brands.

I’ve purchased many lippies over the year but there have only been a few that made me feel happy…like you just LOVE the way it looks on you… So it makes you feel confident and happy inside out. Recently, I purchased such a lipstick. Morocco by Nars. Semi matte…adorable packaging…pricey…but such a unique color. It’s described as a warm cinnamon with notes of pink but I don’t think that does it justice. It’s so vague. It’s actually a beautiful orange color…a burnt orange…or a rust orange…that is perfect for spring n summer. I feel it livens up my complexion MashaAllah and I can’t say that for every color. For women with strong yellow undertones..this would be unique and flattering color. If you google it on youtube, it looks like a reddish color…but it’s more orange in application.
I was actually searching for a dupe for an orange lipstick of a Pakistani brand that has said to be discontinued. Mac and Bobbi didn’t have any matches, surprisingly. Nars’s Morrocco n Casablanca came very very close. And I’ve heard that it’s not a pro Israel brand so that 's a plus too! Yay!

It’s a bright magenta.

So when I decided to go for red lipstick, I bought Russian Red (I’m very pale) and love it. I’ve always wondered what the difference is between that and ruby woo and if there was another truer red out there. I’m more of a neutral undertone.
Also I WANT WANT WANT Velvet Teddy so bad but spending $$ on lipstick is hard for me for some reason. I was looking into limecrime because they’re all over insta and then I saw the crazyyyy scandal associated with it. Anyone familiar with the company/use it?

I went back and decided I will ve brave and bought Relentlessy red, i tried it on again first it really is a pop of coliur but different and I liked it trying it on this time first time i wasn’t so sure. I also purchased Kinda sexy which i just love perfect fpr summer coming up.
I asked for Velvet teddy but the lady said it has been out of stock for months since a famous celebrity named Kylie something said she used it so I am waiting for it to come back in Stock.

PCG if you love this magenta, you’re gonna love NARS funny face. It has bluish undertone and looks amazing on my desi skin tone.

My dh is going away next week so o have asked he buys Velvet teddy at duty free as I might have more luck there also save a bit too! If I like the ones you mentioned may add them to my shopping list for him too hehehe

^Same, heard a lot about Charlotte Tilbury matte lippies, saving up to try. Also love the look of Tom Ford lipsticks, but they’re a little expensive for me. Maybe I’ll convince Mr Maddy that’s how much they’re meant to cost.

So lipstick mad divas please help me. So as I mentioned earlier I am asking dh to buy Velvet teddy from duty free tomorrow when he goes. I am just going on how it looks on youtube I have never actually seen one i. The flesh. I am normal pakistani skin colour, not gori gori not gandami either just a medium olive colour. Does that make sense. I am hoping VT will suit me. I suppose if it doesn’t I can add gloss on top as that makes any nude look better on asian skin nah?

^If you feel that the color is too light on you, you can use a darker liner to give it more depth. You can even mix the color with other lipsticks to create a different shade. If you google “MAC velvet teddy on dark skin” you’ll get pictures on what that shade looks like on a darker complexion. So that can give u an idea.

Online I don’t see a consistency in Velvet Teddy. There are swatches where it looks brown and others where it looks mauvish or like a very pale pink. I have seen that Wet n Wild’s Bare it All which is a matte formula and only 1-2 dollars is a dupe of Velvet Teddy. There are pics online of the two swatches close together. I don’t have VT, but I do have Bare it All. My skin tone is not fair, nor too dark…about an NC 37 …and on me Bare it All is a very light nudey-pink. It’s the lightest pink or nude that I’ve probably worn. So, I like to darken it up a tad with Nyx’s liner in Natural. But I also don’t mimd wearing it occasionally without liner for a more softer look.

Sure, not sure where you’re based and what’s accessible so I’ll name what I have .
Nyx have a lot of peaches and pinks, they have a soft matte lip cream collection - some colours here:
Anastasia Beverly Hills have released a whole bunch of colours, can check them out as well:
Bourjois have a couple of colours, called Peach Club (peachy pink), Nude-ist (light rose pink) and Happy Nude Year (rose pink again)
Sleek have a few in their Matte Me collection, mostly bright shades but there’s some bright pinks and one called Birthday Suit which is a little nude, one called Petal which is a lilac-pink colour.
Lime Crime are amazing but again, very bright colours. They dont have any peaches yet but they have a very bright pink called Pink Velvet.
For cheaper brands, MUA and MUR (Make Up Academy and Make Up Revolution) are both pretty cheap, they have various colours too. MUA has a few pinks and one nude, and MUR have quite a few shades of pink. Worth checking out anyway.
Ummmm. If you like glossy rather than matte, Too Face have a Melted lip collection, glossy but very long wearing, in quite a few shades of pink and nude. I only have a bright pink and purple in this collection, so not sure what the other colours are like.
Another higher end brand which looks good is Stila, and I think Sephora has a good few as well. Don’t have these so I’d advise that you google them and find swatches?
