Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
You all have gone away to the topic.
Pasha is an honest and true Pakistani.
It is matter of six decades.
Why blaming him.
And in past you all ways against my point of view and later it comes clear.
My reply is simple .
How do you expect something good from this intermediate pass people.
They are only able to kill or escape from being killed.
Intermediate pass intelligentsia he he he
By the way Pasha is BA from Government College Campbellpur(Attock) ,My class fellow but not my friend. Little more intelligent than others.
(Like me he he he)
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
Do not agree AP. Intermediate pass when they join Kakul etc. but the training + education at Kakul and other similar institutions is atleast equivalent to a graduation plus don't forget the more senior military officers (Brig and above) these days have to attend post graduation courses at NDC, Islamabad and Command and Staff College, Quetta if they want to progress/get promoted. Kayani for instance has a masters in Defence Studies

I said already about their capability . Defense study is same thing. How to kill or escape from being killed.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
Even the current CJCSC (Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee) Gen Khalid Shameem Wynne holds a Masters degree in War Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad
Military ka banda aakhir apni field mein hi graduation, MA etc. karey ga
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
True.
So he should be stick to his field. Ask him to not to touch intelligence work.
I am son of a JCO. My grand father was too in British India army. All my uncles from both sides were defense personals. my both brothers served Pak army.My only Brother in Law (Bahnoi) was too from air force. Who can know them better than me.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
How on earth two non-Pakistani helicopters managed to land in heart of our major military town in dark and flew back without triggering ANY defence response (Remember, apparently, Pakistani government didn't know about the operation till it ended).
Reminds me of Israeli raid on Syrian nuke site. Might have been similar electronic warfare. They may have jammed Pakistan's radars and other devices.
Remember that the operation was over in 40 minutes.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
People living in the area, known as Thanda Choha, told BBC Urdu that they were commanded in Pashto to switch off their lights and not to leave their homes.
Who commanded them? Americans? The inhabitants woul have most likely spoke Hindko and if the people issuing commands were Pakistani then they would have addressed the people in the area with Urdu or Hindko. Some of the special forces will have learnt Pushto and assumed that all areas of KPK speak it, so he addressed them in that language.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
Kiani/PA/ISI have been caught with their pants down yet again...
from bbc:
1912: Mr Brennan adds that the Pakistani military did not know about the mission until after the US left Pakistan's air space. "We were watching and making sure our people were able to get out of their air space" before Pakistan's military arrived
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
The video in bbc claims that the helicopters were flying low to avoid pakistani radars, no wonder the military and government are quiet since yesterday...
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
if the helicopters flew from Ghazi Air Base (which is a big pakistani base anyone who knows the area will tell you), then every Pakistani inside the base has to know.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
they flew from afghanistan, flew low to avoid pakistani radars, kunar is only about a hundred kilometers or so from abbotabad they would have been in abbotabad after a few minutes, but the dangerous part is that our army and intelligence was asleep as they did not react...the americans have said that they did not inform anyone of the operation including pakistan...
now there are some very tough question that the army and govt need to answer but they are quiet and pretending as if nothing happened
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
there is some lack of clarity on this. most recent reports i've seen mention Ghazi, while most early reports said Afghanistan. if it is Ghazi its hard to imagine nobody in the military knowing about the helicopters taking off, even if they didnt know what was going on.
at any rate, i agree that it remains a colossal albatross around the neck of the Army. The more clarity from them on exactly what happened, the better.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
the problem is that neither the government nor the military has said anything about this important event which could determine pakistan's future, it seems as if they are themselves dumbfounded by all this and trying to come up with some face saving excuse...besides the americans have got what they wanted regarding osama, now they will put forward many many tough options for pakistan...and now it seems the war's finally shifting towards Pakistan!
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
had you made this post before this operation i'd have dismissed it as alarmism, having faith in our military's reputation of being too expensive an opponent for the US to take on. but after this, unless they demonstrate why exactly they shouldnt be considered incompetent, maybe you're right.
Re: Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha should do the decent things and resign
ISI chief should resign
The military needs to impose a state of emergency to deal with an iron hand with all the jihadi militant outfits once and for all. It will take a few years but we need to deal with this menace for good and close the Soviet-Afghan chapter of operating/supporting militant franchises.
This government needs to go. Bring someone who has credibility with the masses and can create short term and long term economic development.
Honestly, this is a massive embarrassment for everything Pakistani.
Military is not serious since it is filled with the same extremist deobandi / wahabbi taliban & alqaeda that they have to fight. Pakistanis have yet to own Pakistan, instead of living in it like a hotel, and understand that islamofascism is one of the things that has to be eliminated before Pakistan can grow.
But forget it, nothing is going to change right now.

Typical pakistani mentality of short term gain and not learning from the past experiences about how things should be done in the country. You can't expect much from the civilian side either as they are all still stuck in the eighties and nineties.
