Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

........

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

But you have to admit it was a deliberate attempt to mock at something muslims for the most part believe. It was an attack on a lot of people's sensitive nerves and blatant disregard of people's emotions.

And weather it was in a blog or not it is exposed and her low class thoughts are exposed.

In 5 weeks?

A decision in haste?

Who told you that?

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

You hit the nail right on the head. Partition was not a decision in haste as the resolution was passed in 1940. Even if Hareem is referring to the June 3 plans then it took over 10 weeks, not 5.

Good that people like her (or is it him?) are exposed. They are supporters of ugly lunatics like Marvi and hoodpai. That picture was offensive to the core.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

She was talking about border that was drawn between India and Pakistan. It was done in 5 weeks & villages that were or shoudl've been on Pakistani side were given to India.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

there you go, you just made a secular statement and ended up agreeing with Marvi.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Laal Topi Alert

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

yep, Gurdaspur and Batala were given to India in order to connect it with Kashmir and also few other tahsils with muslim majority were also given to India. And all that happened during Redcliff's 5 week stay in Sub-continent and our "leaders" acted like "just get it done with".

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

There is no debate about the differences between Hindus and Muslims.

Debate is about whether it should have been an Islamic state or just a separate muslim state with secular/democratic laws.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

She's a muslim woman and that's her personal opinion regarding niqab whether you like it or not. What she stated is true, how a lot of people force this niqab on women in muslim countries as well as in Western countries.

Majority of muslims in pak believe in a lot of dodgy stuff as well, doesn't mean we can't talk against it, **and if she's talking against niqab why do you men have to jump up and down? Why don't you let the women decide whether we wanna wear it or not?

Shame on you all.**

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

how did i agree with marvi???? her whole premise is that the two-nation theory is a farce......which i don't agree with..... because then pakistan wouldn't even need to exist if it wasn't created due to social/regligious difference between muslims and hindus.....

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

But you made this statement.......

and the main point of discussion/debate/b!tching in that video was about the two-nation theory.....that is the root of difference of opinion regarding the 'basis' for creation of Pakistan.....

P.S....I don't believe or support anything that Lal Topi Wala baloongra says besides the two-nation theory being the basis for creation of pakistan.....

All his conspiracy theories, and pseudo-religious bull-crap is bull-crap......no doubt about that...

not again please!!!!! if you just forgot..here is another thing for you......i think u forgot what u just said yourself....you know practice what you preach

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Its strange that a Kafir like me finds this picture offensive while the devout muslims don't.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

:omg:…ask the un-offended muslims :hehe:

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

It is called bigotry, my friend. Good that you exposed him or her. Stranger fact is that some people are out defending that disgusting picture by all means, which was not in any tameez's daira by any stretch of imagination.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Good to know. The picture was totally offending, to say the least.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Marvi Sirmed is an idiot.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

I wonder how come after being in power for hundreds of years in India, Muslims never realized how disgusting a Hindu is and we are separate nations?? It took 1000 years for devout Muslims who currently live in Pakistan to know that ...... and that too from a so called Muslim who never prayed 5 times a week, who never went to Hajj (with due respect to Jinnah)

How come suddenly, after Muslims lost the power in sub continent, we came to know how disgusting a Hindu is???? and we cannot live with them, even after living with them for 1000 plus years????

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Stop being intellectually dishonest. She never said that. What she said was that two-nation theory today is irrelevant in context what happening in Pakistan & she is right.

Btw, if two-nation theory was such a relevant issue today why isn't Bengal still part of Pakistan?

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Why is not Bangladesh a part of India? Even better, why is there no greater Bangladesh including the Indian state of West Bengal? They speak the same language, wear the same dress, eat the same food, have the same music. Heck, even some Bengali women wear bindi as well.

Re: Liberal Pakistani activist Marvi Sirmed takes on Zaid Hamid

Shamraz, I agree she did say that the two nations theory is irrelevant; however, if you listened to the whole program, she denied the existence of it altogether. She stated that the resolution of Pakistan was not resolution of pakistan but the resolution of lahore and word Pakistan was not used in the whole resolution. She also distorted the fact on the date saying that it was on March 24th and not on 23rd. The resolution was presented on March 22 and was passed on March 23. This whole event happened for three days, from 22nd to 24th of March 1940.

On the question of Bengal, the answer is real simple. Pakistan was created in the name of Islam (two-nation theory) but was divided in the name of ethnicity and social injustice. Two nation theory was not in practice when the incident of East Pakistan occured. Had the theory been in effect in it's spirit, the social injustice/political blunders would not have been made. Our steering away from the basis of Pakistan crippled Pakistan back then, and it will harm us again if we do not learn any lesson from the history.
