Game 1 of the NBA finals is tomorrow at 6 PM Best Coast Time.
This rivalry goes back to 1960s when hall of famers like Bill Russel (Boston) and Wilt Chamberlain (Lakers) matched up against eachother. Later on during 1980s Showtime Lakers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kurt Rambis, matched up against Larry Bird, Robert Parish etc.
The two teams have met a total of 10 times previously in NBA finals with Boston winning the first 8 of those finals. Lakers won the last two times they met in finals. It wasnt until 1985 NBA finals that Lakers finally beat Boston in NBA finals. In 1987 Lakers again won the NBA title beating Celtics.
Thanks to 28 others teams that didnt make it this year, the most storied rivalry in NBA history is renewed for the 11th time after 21 years.
It would be a great series to watch.
Although Kobe is accompanied by Gasol and Lamar, but I still feel that real match would be between him and The Big Three.
Of course the Fakers are getting Pimp Slap, ppl calling for Kobe = Jordan, hey i like Kobe i am pretty sure that he is the best closer in the game 2day he probably has a better jumpshot then Michael but he has no heart, Michael had heart Kobe is trying so har 2 win a championship without Shaq, becuase if he dosent ppl will always remember him as excellent player and # 2 man on the early 200 Faker teams, on the other hand I love K.G i think K.G needs to win one for his legacy he deserves one because of all those bad years in Minnesota where there wasent any talent around him so Go CELTS, but i do belive game 3 and 4 will be won by Fakers because of the ratings and NBA will try to take this to 7th game to make good money after all thats wut its all about at the end of the day !!!
I dont try to think that but common sense tells me ok NBA is doing gr8 with this series rating are off teh charts marchendize sale has gone up both cities Boston and LA have a big party enviroment everyone is making money from Hotels to resturants and etc so why would the league want the series to be over in 5 or 6 they will try to make as much, ok another way of finding out if you watch the game tonight just try to note this that Fakers will get all the calls from refs belive me because they will the first 2 games it was Boston and now its the fakers turn, and if some how Celts win tonight they will have my respect.
So basically the series is over now, last night in game 4 @ halftime i was like no way the Celts do anything about this lead but they prove me wrong once again the way that crew played defence in 3rd 4th quarter i ve never seen Phil jacksons triangle offence shut down man and Paul P gr8 defence on KB24, well Fakers will be a good team for years to come but they just ran into a team that is on a mission to win a championship nothing else matters.

ray allen and garnet are in the finals the first time in their lives. paul pierce led the celtics to a 25 win game last year. together, this would be the first time ever that they meet anyone in the finals.
