Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

lafzon main bayan kiya jae to mehbani hogi. I’m not as multimedia friendly as you are. Actually, I don’t have plenty of time on my hands.

PS: listening from Shahbaz Sharif may have a substance, but how about discussing that from the perspective of those who agitated the project (specially on account of damage to heritage sites). You know I did favour metro bus project as it have added something to poor people life, but I’m concerned about historical sites, the only reason why Lahore fascinates me more than any city in Pakistan.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

There is no verdict but a stay on certain location where the heritage site and distance between the metro is not 200 mark, but issue is being resolved, properties and houses are being bought by the govt...

The whole city of Lahore is a heritage, And Punjab govt have done splendid job to not only preserve it but to make it reachable by the history lovers, a department with a budget is there protect, develop and promote the Wall City and all the gates of the Lahore...

But if someone is making noise, and thinking that getting a stat from court is big deal then, he need to get familiar with laws...

The biggest problem here is, me the existing resident of the city, who used to visit Lakshmi Chowk every evening ( and lahori knows why) haven't seen a single heritage site being demolished or marked for demolishing purpose...and have seen almost all the pillars being installed... And yet hears it from someone who somehow heard it from someone that heritage sites in lahore are destroyed...

Despite me asking, u were not been able to label a single site which is endangered by this metro project...so i ll take ur whole post based on wrong assumption and would thriw out all ur concerns...

Now you are free to criticize govt and lahore and people of Lahore for demolishing the heritage sites...on that i would say, at least we are not converting our city into pre-historic times..

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

KPK wants to have their own bus lane. Give them the land (forget about the percentage of Federal funding). Yes mass transit is approved and part funded by the Federal Government, neither PPP nor your PMLN gives a damn about people of KPK just because it is being ruled a party that dare committed the sin of competing with your Sharif brothers' Punjab.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Speaking of heritage sites in length...govt have decided to reclaim its land and expand GT road on ChamravMandi area, now people have got a mosque there and they are ready to die to save the mosque in which they never ever prayed...once the mosque is shifted, the whole market shall be demolished

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Also this

Walled City Of Lahore Authority ? Walled City Of Lahore Authority

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Land from where? In Punjab??? Its kpk's decision to make the route and if they want to make it happen then they not need excuses and eye on federal govt land which belongs to railway ( and all land of railway was purchased) and now kpk want it for free, whereas, Railway might have plans of their own...

But yes....we need excuse to not to work...and now we came up with this that we want certain piece of cake... And cries cries

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Oh come on , they have not even submitted PC-1 of this project to Planning Commission, land acquisition comes later. All political gimmicks by KPK Govt to malign Fed

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Educate yourself a little on how things outside of Punjab. There is a country called Pakistan, and in that country there is a province named KPK where the land they need for bus lane is with Railway Ministry. The Railway Minstry is a Federal domain and Railway Minister is PTI's arch rival and your very own Kh. Saad Rafiq.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Read thr whole post...and get educated...

Then we ll talk, that is if u can talk

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Are you that naive? When they don't even have the bloody the land, how can they submit PC-1 report? Planning Commission will say don't waste our time and go get the land first, and then we'll do our assessment. All feasibility reports were submitted to Federal government two years ago.

Federal government run by likes of Sharif brothers, Rana Sanaulla, Parvez Rasheed, Ishaq Dar and Saad Rafiq need any maligning?

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

They are just crying foul...and asking for things like..." na no mn tail hoga na radha nachay gee"

Whereas, reality is, "nach na janay angan tera"

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

What you talking about? If you choose to remain ignorant then say so. But KPK has planned the route, but the land they need falls under the Railway Ministry, and Railway Minister is a Federal Punjabi don.

It is because your insensitive attitudes towards smaller provinces that all Punjabis get a bad name. There are plenty of people in Punjab that want other provinces to be developed, and don't paint Sharif brothers as doodh ke dulhe that politics of revenge is beyond them.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Its not me but the Stay order that mentions 11 sites including Shalamar Bagh and Choburji. I don't think there is any need for veiled attacks like your last sentence. baat nikle gi to phir door talak jae gi. Neither I'm a supporter of PPP nor I have an agenda to malign PMLN. My observation and concerns are based on the news reported in media.

The first post where I mentioned High Court Stay does mention my knowledge about attachment of Lahoris with their heritage. I don't know wherefrom you get a vibe that I'm critiicsing people of Lahore. Last time I checked, Lahore is not equal to PMLN Government, as other parties got good number of votes and I don't think each PMLN supporter will support demolition of heritage sites just for development and that too for sake of political scoring. May be you are also affected from soething like 'Urdu speaking= MQM syndrome' and hence come up with my comments against PMLN Government's lack of planing (as per High Court stay) as equal to criticizing Lahoris.

I'm not a lawyer, but I do deal with them on regular basis and I do know that stay against a matter is granted after considering merits of the main petition. So I would wait for final verdict to see how the concerns of people are being dealt.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

O bhai mere isse kehte hain 'sawal gandum jawab channa'. My concern is here heritage sites of Lahore, not why there are no such plans in other provinces. Thats a different topic and who will be more interested in having some good transport means in Karachi than us Karachittes. But again you just need to deviate the concerns.

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

I don't know much about Karachi, but in Lahore due to sensitivity of the situation, stay is given even if a single party have approached the court and have been able to prove that if stay not given the whole case may die or irreconcilable damage may be done and injustice would be on court...
So in that case court issues they stay and calls for other party...

Re: Lahore Metro Train : Orange Line

Stay order is a verdict. In plain and simple words, Lahore High Court has called for suspension of work on 11 sites where 200 meter rule isn't followed and people think this is not a verdict? You think LHC will call off the project now that hefty loans have been taken and construction work has started? They probably won't even if they can!

Point is if PMLN was responsible about preserving heritage sites, and had done their planning properly and professionally and not rushing to complete the project for 2018 votes. The same LHC would have thrown the petition out of the window on the basis of 'lack of evidence' like it normally happens in Pakistan.
