Dont mean to derail the thread, but I would never go to a male doctor for a rectal exam, I would feel violated. I prefer women Docs for that matter.

There is a wide range of women to be found between women who run and hookers. My sister can run the 8k in less 35 minutes, beating many of the men. Is that what men are afraid of, being bested by the inferior species? A woman doesn't have to be covered head to toe, have an out of shape body, and avoid interaction with men to look, talk and feel like a woman. It is only men's insecurites and self importance that tells them so.

CM, I will tell you why women running is a monumental event in Pakistan. Title IX in the NCAA charter, estbalished equal funding for women’s sports comparable to men’s. What it did was create scholarships for women athletes, i.e. opportunities for women/girls to have access to college based on their ability to excel at sports, similar to what men had.

First the NCAA is not an LBI. Secondly the running was not a piece of legislation. The NCAA was established as legislation. The current running was not in any way related to promoting gender mainstreaming. Additionally Title IX is not applicable on an international scale nor applied in this situation as this “run” was not a govt sanctioned event or local authority sanctioned. Additionally they were not doing it for gender empowerment. So the matters are not related.

THis resulted in a boom in girls sports in the US at the highchool and middle school levels…sporting activites give confidence to developing youth, it establishes a concept of achievement, goal setting and excelling beyond ones capabilities.

Education does that as well. But neither are related to a random marathon event held in pakistan. Lets be specific and not blow hot air which are you see to do all day.

In my NGO, girls sport programs lead to higher grades and better self worth for kids from disadvantaged economic backgrounds…Next time you a re in NY, I will take you there..you can see it yourself, the impact that opportunities afforded through sports have on young girls lives.

Commendable and i may take you up on your offer if my schedule allows it however that is a hypothesis. I have yet to see any social experiments to prove that as a fact other than a co-inkydink.

What these women did was a watershed event…like the woman who became a pilot.

Running a race is a not an issue of social, economic or political empowerment.

Running a race does not make you equal.

Running a race does not enact legislation.

Running a race does not change social concepts and ideology.

I ask again someone show me the causal link between running in a race with men and social, economic and political empowerment of women.

Some dumbass women weren’t allowed to run their race so their pathetic egos couldn’t handle the matter and they try to twist and turn it into an empowerment issue. There are more important rights that are missing than the dumbass idea of running.

CM, How is that off topic? But you are absolutely right that casual relationship between two instances one of which has never been done before, is hard to find? I hope you took some stats? You will learn with time and when you get a job that requires analytical skills. Until then, keep trying. Take some courses.

Completely off topic but i will bite. What statistics do you want? Ambassors? If so career or non-career? What grades do you want for these statistics and do you want the level of postings as well?
