All societies face difficult decisions when balancing freedom and community accepted morals. Pakistan and this race is no different.
Asma Jahangir and her supporters had every right to protest a ban on co-jogging as MMA and their supporters had the right to protest against such jogs. Where they both crossed the line was violating the law by taking it into their own hands.
Anyway, it is clear that public support is against such co-jogging. We can see from this thread that even those who probably have jogged along side women in western countries and probably liked it too are against the idea being practiced in Pakistan. Kinda like those who say Pakistan TV shouldn't produce programs like Indian TV/Films but go ahead and watch Indian media anyway. Or the example of when guppies claim that music is haram but obviously they do listen to it.
Men and women jogging side by side do take place in Pakistan, even if they are not organized. The 10-core headquarters near Chaklala has a big jogging track and I used to jog there often. There were couples jogging, aunties jogging with their sons, girls jogging in a bunch and sometimes the family out for a quick walk. College boys used to come there in their jeans and collar shirts just to watch girls run, pretending they are there waiting for the squash court. I guess if these women can run in high heals they can play squash in boots too.

Ahmadiji Bhaijan highlights the assbackwadness of Pakistani society. He states that it is acceptable for ARMY to have places where men and women can run together, but not acceptable for the society at large. PAF, I read, is now introducing female fighter pilots (with Hijab and Niqab), but you wont hear any Molvis protesting about that, because the Armed Forced will shove a pig danda up their behind. They only try to intimidate poor people who have little political clout (mainly women). Protest is fine, but it should have some legs to stand on, not protesting over people right to practice what they feel is right.
What if tomorrow someone want to protest Azan from blaring so loud so early in the morning?

Yes…And I know what you are hinting at…It was a great and noble struggle and Muslim women were involved and even today many many Muslim women’s voices are carried in the hearts and souls of Muslims and who would defend the honour of these majestic women…
And these Muslim women voices certainly don’t include Asra Nomani, Amina Wadud and Irshad Manji and the likes…I couldn’t care less about such trash…
Race side by side with men is not a struggle…If they wanna race, why not petition the government? Going without permission and then being stopped and then giving a name of women oppression…Sucks…
