Kite Runner

Any view on this book? I am personally a big fan!!

Re: Kite Runner

I didnt read the book yet but I did see the movie which made me bawl in the theatres...

Re: Kite Runner

there were a few threads on the book and the movie too....
i read the book first and then saw the movie...although it was a sad and depressing book, but I just loved every bit of it...
the movie doesn't do any justice to the book....

Re: Kite Runner

i guess m the only person in the world u hated this book
its full of lies.
that dude wants to tell that b4 russian invasion afghanistan was like heaven :S
and i can qoute a whole list where he wants to describe the mustangs in afghanistan :s and swiming pools in houses :S

^^ I wouldn't know what Afghanistan was like before Russian invaded but the book itself is totally a great read. I'm a fan of the author. LoVVVVVVVVVVed the character of Hassan and almost cried when he was sexually assaulted and then murdered by those effing freaks. I totally felt as if I know that guy somehow.

Re: Kite Runner

i watched the movie and i cried watching it. Khaled Hosseini has also written A thousand splendid suns i enjoyed that far more. i would love to watch that when they make the movie :)

that made me cry tooo.

Re: Kite Runner

Loved both 'The Kite Runner' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'.
I loved the character of Hassan aswell... he's the proper portrayal of a loyal friend. Both books were hearttouching. As for the movie, i think this goes for every movie based on a book, it didn't tell the whole story. Atleast that's how i feel about it. :) The book is always better..

Re: Kite Runner

The movie was sad but I feel that every word in the book played is part. It was beautifully written. I felt that I liked The Kite Runner more than A Thousand Splendid Suns but that might just be me.

Re: Kite Runner

^ well i havent read Kite runner only seen the movie, i could relate to thousand splended suns. and i lover the character of Laila,
may be i should read Kite runner, i cant wait to read his next book :)

LOVEDDD the book- greattt piece of writing-- the movie was nothinggg compared to the book- khaled hosseini is a really good writer and this other book- a thousand splendid suns- is really catchyy too- both great books

i cried wen sami yusuf's song came on--in the kite runner :(

Re: Kite Runner

I cried when read the book..it was just so touching gosh.....like how many times do you get to read something and actually cry? It never happens...ya only in movies but not when you are reading a book. And it is not just the story, it is the way author describes every emotion.

Re: Kite Runner

Character of Hassan

and that lovely sentence “for you, hundred times over”

Aww.. lovely.

Well there have been some controversial issues ofcourse, like that episode of taliban regime :vivo: Fatcs seem somehow twisted at times. Yet, the book is still heart rending. Playing with the delicatest of human emotions, and reviving the trust in unconditional sincerity and love. Loved the book.

Re: Kite Runner

I think I ought to read it!! I read A Thousand Splendid Suns and loved it. Thought it was awesome.

Re: Kite Runner

i havent read kite runner, but a thousand splendid sons was brilliant i loved the character of merium and i cried at the ending of it, i wish it didnt have to be that way but i guess thats the harshness of reality

Re: Kite Runner

^ yeah mariams story was soo sad "and mariam did what she was told to do once agian"

but i luved the way Laila and tariqs story ended

Re: Kite Runner

^ haan they got the happy ending but i dont understand why mariam had to have the sad ending she endured alot of things in life and it just makes you think :(

Re: Kite Runner

^like many women do in Afghanistan, seriously this book opened my eyes to the women in Afghanistan, very sad and its still the same story there.

Re: Kite Runner
